Rohit Sharma Sends Strong Fitness Warning Ahead of England ODIs… India Captain Begins Batting Grind After Family Break
After returning from a short holiday in Austria, veteran opener Rohit Sharma wastes no time and starts preparing for India’s crucial three-match ODI battle against England.
The countdown has begun for the much-awaited India vs England ODI series, and veteran opener Rohit Sharma has already shifted his focus towards the 50-over challenge. With the three-match ODI series scheduled to begin on July 14, the experienced batter has sent a strong message about his fitness and preparation by returning to training ahead of the big assignment.
After spending quality time with his family during a break in Austria, Rohit Sharma arrived in England and quickly got back into cricket mode. Instead of taking extra time off, the senior Indian batter immediately started his batting sessions, showing his determination to be fully prepared for the upcoming ODI contest.
Rohit Sharma Returns With Clear Intentions
The India opener was recently seen enjoying a relaxed family vacation with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and children. However, once he landed in the United Kingdom, the focus changed back to cricket as Rohit began working on his game ahead of a demanding international schedule.

The upcoming ODI series will be another important test for the experienced campaigner, who continues to play a key role in India’s batting lineup.
Record-Breaking Rohit Continues to Rewrite History
Despite being one of the most experienced players in the squad, Rohit Sharma continues to create new milestones. During India’s recent ODI series against Afghanistan, the right-handed batter displayed his class with two impressive performances.
He scored 48 runs off 39 balls in the second ODI before producing an aggressive 79-run knock from 69 deliveries in the third match in Chennai.
That innings helped Rohit surpass legendary Indian opener Virender Sehwag to become India’s highest run-scorer as an opening batter in international cricket.

A New Record Added to Rohit’s Legendary Career
With his latest achievement, Rohit Sharma moved ahead of Sehwag’s previous record of 16,119 runs as an opener. Rohit now holds the record with 16,137 runs in 386 innings at the top of the order.
The milestone further strengthens his position among India’s greatest opening batters alongside legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and other iconic names.
Adding another achievement to his remarkable career, Rohit also became the oldest Indian cricketer to score an ODI fifty, breaking a record that had stood for nearly four decades.
England ODI Series Could Be Another Big Test
The upcoming India vs England ODI series will provide another opportunity for Rohit Sharma to prove his value as one of India’s most reliable white-ball performers.
With the team looking to build momentum after the ongoing T20I series, Rohit’s experience at the top of the order could prove crucial against a strong English side.
As preparations continue, fans will be hoping that the “Hitman” once again delivers a memorable performance when India begins its ODI campaign in England.
