Although India lost the three-match ODI series 2-1, the batting trio impressed consistently, making the race for the world’s top-ranked ODI batter more competitive than ever.
Gill One Step Away From No.1
Opening batter Shubman Gill emerged as India’s biggest gainer after scoring 188 runs in the ODI series against England.
His impressive run lifted him to second place in the ICC ODI batting rankings with 801 rating points, leaving him just one point behind New Zealand star Daryl Mitchell, who continues to occupy the No.1 position with 802 points.
The latest rankings underline Gill’s remarkable consistency and reinforce his status as one of the world’s premier white-ball batters.
Kohli and Rohit Keep the Pressure On
Veteran stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also remained firmly in contention.
Kohli retained the third spot with 767 rating points, while Rohit climbed to fourth after his memorable century at Lord’s, taking his tally to 758 points.
With all three Indian batters occupying places inside the top four, the battle for the No.1 ranking promises to intensify over the coming months.
Joe Root Climbs Into Top 10
For England, Joe Root enjoyed a sensational series with the bat.
The experienced batter accumulated an unbeaten 249 runs, helping England clinch the ODI series and earning a jump of four places to eighth in the ICC ODI batting rankings.
His teammates also enjoyed significant gains.
Ben Duckett surged 11 places to joint 19th, while Jacob Bethell climbed five spots to 64th.

Rashid Khan Holds Bowling Crown
In the ODI bowling rankings, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan retained his position as the world’s No.1 ODI bowler.
Meanwhile, England fast bowler Jofra Archer continued his impressive comeback by moving up to third after claiming five wickets against India, narrowing the gap to second-placed Abrar Ahmed.
T20I Rankings Also Witness Major Changes

The latest ICC T20I Rankings also reflected performances from the Bangladesh-Zimbabwe series.
Zimbabwe batter Brian Bennett reached a career-best ninth position, while Bangladesh openers Tanzid Hasan and Saif Hassan climbed to 20th and 27th, respectively.
Among bowlers, Mahedi Hasan rose to 19th, Rishad Hossain moved into joint 25th, and Zimbabwe pacer Richard Ngarava enjoyed one of the biggest jumps, climbing 37 places to 32nd.
