IndiGo Flight Booking Down? Airline Flags “Issues” With Reservation System: Here’s What Passengers Need to Know

IndiGo says intermittent problems with its core reservation platform are affecting access to online services, while its support teams work with a partner to restore normal operations.

IndiGo has reported intermittent issues with its core reservation platform, potentially affecting online ticket bookings and other passenger services.

Passengers trying to book flights or access online services on IndiGo may face difficulties as the airline has reported intermittent issues with its core reservation platform.

The airline acknowledged the problem in a post on X, saying that the technical issue could make it difficult for some customers to use its online services.

The disruption comes at a time when India’s largest airline by domestic market share continues to handle a huge volume of passenger bookings and flight operations. For travellers with immediate plans, the issue could be particularly frustrating.

IndiGo reservation system facing intermittent problems

According to IndiGo, its core reservation platform is currently experiencing intermittent issues.

The airline said the problem may prevent some customers from accessing online services normally. The company is working with its technology partner on a priority basis to resolve the issue.

For passengers who need immediate assistance with their travel, IndiGo has advised them to contact its Contact Centre for support.

Travellers whose flights are scheduled for a later date have been advised to try accessing the airline’s website or mobile application again after some time.

The airline also apologised for the inconvenience and thanked passengers for their patience while the issue is being addressed.

What should passengers do if they cannot book a ticket?

For passengers currently unable to complete a booking, the immediate advice is to avoid repeatedly attempting the same transaction if the website or app is not responding properly.

Those travelling soon can contact IndiGo’s customer support for assistance, while passengers with later travel dates can try again after some time.

It is also advisable for passengers who have already booked their flights to check their booking details once the platform is functioning normally, particularly if they were attempting to make changes, add services or complete another transaction when the issue occurred.

IndiGo remains India’s biggest airline

The reservation problem comes against the backdrop of IndiGo’s dominant position in the Indian aviation market.

The airline continues to command close to 60% of India’s domestic aviation market, putting significant responsibility on its digital and reservation infrastructure to handle millions of passengers.

Any disruption to the booking system can therefore affect a large number of travellers, particularly during busy travel periods.

IndiGo recently reported a quarterly loss

The technical issue also comes shortly after InterGlobe Aviation, IndiGo’s parent company, reported its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27.

The company reported a consolidated loss of ₹238 crore, compared with a profit of ₹20,496 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier, according to the information available.

At the same time, revenue increased by around 20% to ₹24,584 crore. However, operating profitability came under pressure.

IndiGo’s EBITDA declined by approximately 37% to ₹3,267 crore, while its EBITDA margin fell to 13.3%, compared with 25.5% in the previous year.

When will IndiGo’s booking services return to normal?

IndiGo has not indicated a specific timeline for a complete resolution of the reservation platform issue.

The airline has said that it is working with its partner to resolve the problem on priority. Until the system is fully restored, some passengers may continue to experience difficulty while accessing online services.

For now, passengers with urgent travel requirements should use IndiGo’s customer support channels, while those travelling later can try the website or app again after some time.

The situation highlights just how dependent modern airline operations have become on reservation technology. When a core booking system experiences problems, the impact can quickly be felt by passengers trying to plan their journeys.
