The wait is finally over for buyers keeping an eye on India’s popular compact SUV segment. Maruti Suzuki has revealed the complete pricing of its updated 2026 Brezza, and the biggest surprise is not just the new engine — it is the aggressive starting price.

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza is now priced between ₹7.40 lakh and ₹13.55 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model gets a new 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, while the familiar 1.5-litre petrol and factory-fitted CNG powertrains continue to be part of the lineup.

The new pricing strategy could make the Brezza even more attractive to buyers looking for a feature-packed compact SUV without stretching their budget too far.

New turbo-petrol engine changes the game

One of the biggest changes for the 2026 Brezza is the introduction of a 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine. The new motor produces 110 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque, giving the compact SUV a more performance-focused option.

Interestingly, the new turbo-petrol variants are priced lower than their equivalent 1.5-litre petrol alternatives. A key reason behind this difference is the applicable GST structure, with the smaller engine attracting an 18% GST rate, while the 1.5-litre petrol engine continues to attract 40% GST.

For buyers, that could translate into a significantly lower entry price.

The outgoing Brezza 1.5-litre LXi manual was priced at ₹8.26 lakh, whereas the new 1.0-litre LXi manual brings the starting price down to ₹7.40 lakh — a difference of ₹86,000.

1.5-litre petrol and CNG engines continue

The tried-and-tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine remains available. It produces 103 hp and 139 Nm of torque.

Customers who prefer lower running costs can continue to choose the factory-fitted CNG version, which produces 88 hp and 121.5 Nm of torque.

However, the 1.5-litre petrol variants have seen price increases of up to ₹69,000 with the 2026 update.

The CNG lineup has also received price revisions. Most 1.5-litre CNG variants are now ₹19,000 more expensive, although the VXi CNG variant is reportedly ₹18,000 cheaper than before.

6-speed manual gearbox now standard

The transmission lineup has also received an important update.

The 2026 Brezza now gets a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard across the range, replacing the previous 5-speed manual unit. This should offer better highway cruising and a more relaxed driving experience compared with the outgoing setup.

The 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox continues to be available with the naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine.

Brezza faces tough competition

The compact SUV market in India has become increasingly competitive, with buyers having plenty of options to choose from.

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza continues to compete against popular models such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and Kia Sonet.
