Apple iPhone 16 is available with discounts on Flipkart ahead of the highly anticipated iPhone 18 Pro launch.

With the next-generation Apple iPhone 18 Pro launch grabbing attention, there may be an interesting opportunity for buyers who don’t necessarily need the newest iPhone.

The Apple iPhone 16 is currently available with discounts that can bring its effective price down by roughly Rs 9,000, making it a tempting deal for anyone planning to enter Apple’s ecosystem without spending flagship-level money on the latest model.

However, there is one important catch: unlocking the maximum discount requires an eligible bank credit card.

iPhone 16 price drops on Flipkart

The Flipkart listing shows the iPhone 16 at around Rs 67,900, representing an upfront discount from its official pricing.

The bigger saving comes through a bank offer. Buyers using eligible Flipkart Axis Bank or SBI credit cards can receive an additional discount of approximately Rs 6,245.

This brings the effective price down to roughly Rs 61,500, depending on the applicable offer and transaction conditions.

That means the headline discount looks impressive—but shoppers without the required credit card may not be able to get the phone at the lowest advertised effective price.

Old phone exchange can reduce the price further

For customers looking to replace an older smartphone, Flipkart is also offering exchange benefits of up to Rs 40,900.

Of course, the actual exchange value will depend on several factors, including the smartphone model, variant, physical condition and whether the device is fully functional.

No-cost EMI options are also available, with monthly payments starting at around Rs 5,658. Buyers should nevertheless check the final payment breakdown carefully, as processing charges or other applicable fees may affect the overall cost.

Customers can also choose to purchase AppleCare+ separately for additional device protection.

What does the iPhone 16 offer?

The iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with Dynamic Island and up to 2,000 nits of outdoor peak brightness.

The device retains a 60Hz refresh rate, but its display quality, compact form factor and premium build continue to be major attractions for users who prefer a smaller flagship smartphone.

The handset comes with an aluminium frame, a Ceramic Shield front and a colour-infused glass back. Buyers can choose from Black, White, Pink, Teal and Ultramarine colour options.

Apple A18 chip powers the iPhone 16

At the heart of the smartphone is Apple’s A18 chip, featuring a six-core CPU, five-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine.

The phone is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage configurations and also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

For many buyers, this combination still delivers more than enough performance for everyday work, gaming, photography and long-term software usage.

48MP camera remains a strong selling point

The iPhone 16 comes equipped with a 48-megapixel Fusion primary camera featuring an f/1.6 aperture and sensor-shift optical image stabilisation.

It is accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, while the primary sensor also supports 2x optical-quality telephoto shots.

For selfies and video calls, the smartphone uses a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera with Face ID.

Other notable additions include Apple’s Camera Control and Action Button, giving users quicker access to selected camera functions and shortcuts.

Should you buy the iPhone 16 now?

The timing makes this deal particularly interesting. With the iPhone 18 Pro launch approaching, buyers face a familiar question: buy the latest model at a premium price or save money on the previous generation?

For someone who wants a powerful iPhone with a capable camera, premium OLED display and the Apple A18 chip, an effective price of around Rs 61,500 could make the iPhone 16 a solid value proposition.

But there is one thing buyers should remember—the lowest price depends heavily on eligibility for the bank offer. Before placing an order, customers should carefully check card requirements, exchange terms and any additional charges.

The discount may be massive, but the fine print could decide whether you actually get it.
