‘I Made Raveena Tandon uncomfortable’: Ranveer Singh’s childhood confession took an emotional turn thanks to Akshay Kumar
The Dhurandhar star recalled being escorted off a film set after staring at Raveena Tandon, before a thoughtful gesture from Akshay Kumar turned heartbreak into an unforgettable memory.
Long before he became one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Ranveer Singh was just an excited young fan hoping to catch a glimpse of his favourite actors. One such childhood memory, involving Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar, remains etched in his mind not because everything went right, but because of how an embarrassing moment ended with an act of kindness.
During a round-table discussion hosted by Rajeev Masand, which also featured Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Anil Kapoor, Ranveer revisited the incident that took place when he visited the set of one of Bollywood’s most iconic songs.
The Moment Ranveer Couldn’t Take His Eyes Off Raveena
While recalling the memory, Ranveer tried to describe the first time he saw Raveena Tandon on set.
He initially remembered the actress wearing a white saree, but Akshay Kumar quickly corrected him with a smile, reminding him that the saree was actually yellow.
The light-hearted correction set the stage for Ranveer’s candid confession.
The actor admitted that, as a young boy, he was completely mesmerised by seeing Raveena in person. Unable to look away, he kept staring at the actress, unknowingly making her uncomfortable.
Eventually, security personnel were asked to escort him away from the shooting location.“I was a boy, and I was ogling at Raveena ji. I was watching her with my eyes wide open, so she was getting a little uncomfortable. She asked one of the security guys to escort me away,” Ranveer recalled.
For the young fan, the experience was heartbreaking.
Akshay Kumar’s Gesture Changed Everything
Although Ranveer was devastated after being asked to leave the set, the day took an unexpected turn.
As he stood upset, Akshay Kumar noticed his disappointment and decided to comfort him.

According to Ranveer, the superstar walked up to him, complimented his haircut, and happily posed for a photograph.
The simple act left a lasting impression on the future actor.“He told me, ‘I like your haircut.’ I was so excited. He obviously saw how bad I felt after they asked me to leave. I took a picture with him and thought, ‘Man, someday I’m going to be like that guy,'” Ranveer shared.
The heartfelt memory remains one of the defining moments from his childhood and continues to inspire him even today.
A Funny Ending to the Story
The nostalgic conversation ended on a humorous note when Varun Dhawan asked Ranveer whether he had at least managed to get a photograph with Raveena Tandon.

Ranveer simply replied, “No,” prompting laughter from everyone at the discussion.
The Iconic Song Behind the Memory
Based on the conversation, the incident is believed to have taken place during the filming of “Tip Tip Barsa Paani”, the legendary song from the 1994 blockbuster Mohra.
Featuring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon, the rain-soaked musical sequence remains one of the most memorable songs in Hindi cinema and continues to enjoy immense popularity decades after its release.
Ranveer’s Recent Work
On the professional front, Ranveer Singh was most recently seen in the action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which was released on December 5, 2025.
Today, the actor may be one of Bollywood’s leading stars, but his candid recollection serves as a reminder that even celebrities have childhood moments they look back on with a mix of embarrassment, gratitude, and nostalgia.
