Emraan Hashmi at 47: Awarapan 2 Star Reveals the Fitness Habits That Keep Him in Shape…
As Awarapan 2 continues its box-office run, Emraan Hashmi’s toned physique has become a talking point. Here’s a closer look at the actor’s workout routine, warm-up habits and approach to food.
Emraan Hashmi is back in the spotlight with Awarapan 2, and it is not just his performance that has caught the attention of audiences. At 47, the actor’s noticeably fit and toned physique has also sparked curiosity about how he continues to maintain his shape.
The sequel, which arrived in theatres on August 14, nearly two decades after the original Awarapan, sees Hashmi return as Shivam Pandit, a brooding protagonist who takes on a dangerous mission to rescue abducted girls. The film has been competing at the box office with Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947.
While the actor’s performance remains one of the major talking points surrounding the film, glimpses of his fitness routine have offered fans an insight into the discipline behind his physique.
Emraan Hashmi’s workout begins before the weights
Emraan’s former personal trainer Rahul Bhatt recently discussed the actor’s training approach during Conversations Between Sets. The conversation highlighted an often-overlooked part of exercise — the warm-up.
According to Bhatt, he generally spends around seven minutes warming up before starting the main workout. Emraan also pointed out that many people tend to begin exercising immediately without adequately preparing their bodies.
Bhatt explained that simply walking on a treadmill to increase body temperature does not necessarily amount to a complete warm-up. A proper preparation routine should involve movements that help activate and prepare different parts of the body for the exercises that follow.
Why Emraan focuses on controlled weight training
The discussion also featured Emraan performing dumbbell exercises while seated on a bench. At one point, he was asked to complete 50 repetitions before moving on to standing exercises.
When the conversation turned to standing dumbbell movements, Hashmi demonstrated a unilateral weightlifting technique, working with one dumbbell at a time.
The actor explained that his physiotherapist had recommended the method while dealing with heavier weights because it demands greater balance, stability and control.
That approach also carries a useful lesson for regular gym-goers. Fitness is not simply about lifting the heaviest possible weight. Exercise technique, individual strength, balance and experience all play an important role in determining how an exercise should be performed.
For beginners especially, maintaining proper form and controlled movements can be more valuable than chasing heavier numbers.

He is a self-confessed “chocoholic”
Emraan’s fitness philosophy does not appear to revolve around eliminating every food he enjoys.
During the same conversation, the actor described himself as a “chocoholic” and spoke about his enjoyment of food and different cuisines. Rather than suggesting complete restriction, the discussion pointed towards the importance of moderation and balance.
Rahul Bhatt also highlighted how difficult maintaining a strict diet can be for someone who genuinely enjoys food. This can be particularly challenging with Indian meals, where recipes may contain several ingredients and portion sizes can vary considerably.

For Emraan, the broader idea appears to be sustainability rather than extreme restriction. Understanding portion sizes, making sensible food choices and maintaining consistency can be more practical than following an unnecessarily rigid diet.
The fitness lesson behind Emraan Hashmi’s routine
Emraan Hashmi’s training routine offers a relatively straightforward message: staying fit is not necessarily about completely changing your lifestyle overnight.
A combination of proper warm-ups, resistance training, controlled technique, balanced eating and consistency can form the foundation of a sustainable fitness routine. Individual training needs, however, can differ, and exercises involving heavier weights should be approached according to a person’s ability and experience.
With Awarapan 2 bringing Emraan Hashmi back into the limelight, his fitness routine has become another reason fans are taking notice. At 47, the actor’s approach shows that maintaining a strong physique is less about shortcuts and more about discipline, consistency and balance.
