Honey Singh may face arrest warrant after skipping summons: Maharashtra Cyber moves to stop rapper from leaving India
The Maharashtra Cyber department has initiated the process for a Look-Out Circular (LoC) against Yo Yo Honey Singh and is preparing to approach a court for an arrest warrant after the rapper allegedly failed to appear for questioning for the third time.
Mumbai, October 6, 2026: Rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has landed in fresh legal trouble, with Maharashtra Cyber initiating steps that could restrict him from leaving India while an investigation into his alleged objectionable remarks at a Delhi concert continues.
According to reports, the cyber agency is preparing to approach the appropriate court seeking an arrest warrant against the singer after he did not appear for questioning despite repeated summons. The latest absence was reportedly his third, prompting investigators to consider stronger legal measures.
Maharashtra Cyber initiates Look-Out Circular process
Officials have said that the process to issue a Look-Out Circular (LoC) against Honey Singh has also been initiated. The proposed measure is aimed at ensuring that the rapper does not leave the country while the investigation remains underway.
Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, has reportedly sought additional time to appear before the investigating officer and record his statement.
A Maharashtra Cyber official said the singer had been summoned but did not appear and instead requested more time. Following his repeated non-appearance, authorities are now preparing to seek an arrest warrant from the court.
Why is Honey Singh being investigated?
The case is linked to remarks allegedly made by Honey Singh during a concert in New Delhi.

A video clip from the performance subsequently went viral on social media, drawing criticism over what was described as an objectionable and obscene reference involving sex in a car.
Following the controversy, a complaint was submitted to Maharashtra Cyber, after which a case was registered and Singh was called for questioning. Investigators now want to record his statement as part of the ongoing probe.
Honey Singh had apologised over controversial remark
Amid the backlash, Honey Singh had earlier issued an apology, saying that he had not intended to hurt or offend anyone.

The rapper explained that he had attempted to communicate a message to a younger, Gen Z audience after a conversation about sexually transmitted diseases and unprotected sex. He acknowledged, however, that the way he expressed the message was inappropriate and regretted that it had offended people.
The apology, however, has not brought the investigation to an end, with Maharashtra Cyber continuing to seek his appearance for questioning.
What happens next?
The matter could now enter a more serious legal phase if Maharashtra Cyber formally approaches the court and an arrest warrant is issued.
At the same time, the proposed Look-Out Circular could restrict Honey Singh’s ability to travel outside India while the investigation proceeds.
As of now, the reported steps to seek an arrest warrant and issue an LoC should not be confused with a court having already issued an arrest warrant. Further developments will depend on the agency’s application, the court’s decision and Honey Singh’s response to the investigation.
For the rapper, who has faced controversies over his lyrics and performances in the past, the latest case brings renewed scrutiny this time with the possibility of significantly tougher legal action.
