Kartik Aaryan Turns Producer With Dopamine Studios: After Chandu Champion, Actor Reunites With Kabir Khan for ‘Inspiring’ Sports Drama
Kartik Aaryan has launched his own production banner and will co-produce his next film with Kabir Khan, a story inspired by Kashmiri kickboxing sensation Tajamul Islam.
Kartik Aaryan is taking another major step in his career this time, away from the spotlight and behind the camera.
The actor has launched his own production banner, Dopamine Studios, and has joined forces with filmmaker Kabir Khan as a producer for their upcoming, yet-untitled film.
The project marks the reunion of Aaryan and Khan after Chandu Champion, their 2024 biographical sports drama based on Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar.
But their next collaboration will explore a completely different sporting world.
Kartik Aaryan launches Dopamine Studios
Aaryan’s decision to enter production comes at an important point in his career.
The actor has increasingly taken on challenging roles, and his performance in Chandu Champion earned him significant recognition. He recently won the Best Actor honour at the 72nd National Film Awards, following his Best Actor victory at the 70th Filmfare Awards for the same performance.
Now, with Dopamine Studios, Aaryan is expanding his role in the filmmaking process.
Rather than simply starring in his next collaboration with Kabir Khan, the actor will also back the project as a producer.
Kartik and Kabir Khan reunite after Chandu Champion
The upcoming film brings Aaryan and Kabir Khan together once again after Chandu Champion.
Their new project is set against the world of kickboxing and follows a coach whose life becomes connected to a young girl from Kashmir who dreams of making a name for herself in the sport.
The story is inspired by the real-life journey of Tajamul Islam, the Kashmiri kickboxer who achieved international recognition at a remarkably young age.
The project combines sport, ambition and an inspirational human story themes that also played a central role in Chandu Champion.
Why Kartik decided to become a producer
For Aaryan, the decision to step into production appears to have been driven by his personal connection with the story.
A source close to the project said the actor was deeply moved by the journey at the heart of the film and believed it deserved to reach a wider audience.
“Kartik connected with the story at a very deep level from the moment he heard it,” the source said, adding that he was particularly moved by the courage and determination reflected in the real-life story.
According to the source, Aaryan’s decision to produce the film came from his desire to support the project beyond his role as an actor and become more involved creatively.
That could make Dopamine Studios an interesting new chapter in the actor’s career.
Kartik is training in kickboxing
The physical demands of the role are also reportedly being taken seriously.
Kartik Aaryan has begun training in kickboxing as he prepares to portray the coach at the centre of the story.

The film is already being shot, with portions being filmed in Mumbai as well as Kashmir.
The locations are expected to play an important role in the film, particularly given the story’s connection to a young athlete from the region.
A different sports story after Chandu Champion
Although both films revolve around sport, the upcoming project appears to have a different emotional core from Chandu Champion.
While Chandu Champion followed the extraordinary journey of Murlikant Petkar and his pursuit of sporting glory despite immense adversity, the new film focuses on the relationship between a coach and a young athlete chasing her dreams.

The inspiration drawn from Tajamul Islam’s journey also gives the project a strong real-life foundation.
For Kartik, it is another opportunity to explore a character who exists in the world of sports while simultaneously allowing him to experiment with a different kind of performance.
Title and release date still under wraps
The film currently remains untitled, and the makers have not yet announced the complete cast or its release date.
Further details are expected to be revealed as production progresses.
For now, the combination of Kartik Aaryan, Kabir Khan, a real-life sporting inspiration and a newly launched production banner has already made the project one to watch.
And if Chandu Champion showed Kartik’s willingness to push himself physically for a role, his decision to produce this film suggests that the actor may now be ready to take an even bigger creative gamble.
Dopamine Studios could be the beginning of Kartik Aaryan’s next chapter not just as a star, but as a filmmaker and producer with stories he personally believes in.
