Citroën eC3X Teased in India: Rear Wiper Added, EV Gets Feature Upgrades Ahead of Launch

The Indian electric vehicle space is heating up once again, and this time all eyes are on Citroën which has quietly dropped a teaser for its upcoming Citroën eC3X—a refreshed version of its budget-friendly electric hatchback.

At first glance, the teaser image may not seem like much. But for those who’ve followed the Citroën eC3 closely, one detail stands out immediately—a rear wiper. It’s a small addition, yet one that existing owners and reviewers have repeatedly pointed out as a missing practical feature in everyday use, especially during monsoon conditions across India.

The new model is expected to carry the “X” suffix, aligning it with its ICE counterpart, the C3X, signalling that this is more than just a cosmetic facelift. Industry expectations suggest that Citroën is preparing a more comprehensive mid-cycle update rather than a simple badge change.

Inside the cabin, the upcoming Citroën eC3X is likely to feel more refined. Reports indicate improvements such as better-quality interior materials, an updated instrument cluster, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a much-needed 360-degree camera system—a feature that could significantly improve city driving convenience.

On the outside, subtle but noticeable upgrades are expected. These include LED projector headlamps, bumper-integrated LED fog lamps, revised bumpers, and possibly new colour options to freshen up its appeal in a highly competitive segment. Nothing radical—but enough to make it stand apart from the outgoing version.

However, what remains unchanged is equally important. The eC3X is expected to continue with the same 29.2 kWh battery pack, paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 56 bhp and 143 Nm of torque. This means the focus remains on urban commuting efficiency rather than high-performance driving. Dimensions are also expected to remain the same, keeping the car familiar in size and practicality.

With the official launch expected in the coming weeks, pricing will be the key factor that determines whether this updated package can strengthen Citroën’s position in India’s growing EV market or simply remain a mild refresh.

For now, the teaser has done its job—sparked curiosity, conversations, and expectations around what could be a quietly important upgrade in Citroën’s India strategy.
