BYD SEALION 7 Gets a Cheaper Variant in India: New Dynamic Trim Launches at ₹41.90 Lakh With 520km Range
The new BYD SEALION 7 Dynamic brings a lower entry price to the electric SUV range, while offering a 71.8kWh Blade Battery, 520km claimed range and festive ownership benefits.
New Delhi: Looking for a premium electric SUV but not willing to stretch the budget too far? BYD has just made its SEALION 7 lineup a little more accessible in India.
BYD has launched the SEALION 7 Dynamic at an introductory price of ₹41.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant sits below the existing Premium and Performance versions, giving buyers a more affordable way into BYD’s electric SUV range.
The launch also comes with a set of festive ownership benefits, making the new variant particularly interesting for customers considering a premium EV purchase during the current buying season.
BYD SEALION 7 Dynamic: Price and positioning
The new SEALION 7 Dynamic has been introduced as the entry-level version of the electric SUV. With the starting price now set at ₹41.90 lakh, BYD is clearly looking to widen the appeal of the model in India’s increasingly competitive premium EV market.
The SEALION 7 range now consists of three variants:
- SEALION 7 Dynamic
- SEALION 7 Premium
- SEALION 7 Performance
The Dynamic variant is aimed at buyers who want the styling, technology and road presence of the SEALION 7 without paying for the higher-end versions.
71.8kWh Blade Battery delivers 520km claimed range
Under the floor, the SEALION 7 Dynamic gets a 71.8kWh Blade Battery, one of the key technologies associated with BYD’s electric vehicles.
The company claims a range of 520km under the NEDC testing cycle. While real-world range can vary depending on driving conditions, speed, temperature and road conditions, the claimed figure gives the SUV a useful advantage for both city driving and longer journeys.
The Dynamic variant can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds, which should be more than enough performance for everyday driving.
The wider SEALION 7 lineup is available with 71.8kWh and 82.56kWh Blade Battery options, depending on the variant.
Technology remains a major highlight
Despite being the more affordable version, the SEALION 7 Dynamic does not appear to compromise heavily on technology.
The SUV is based on BYD’s dedicated e-Platform 3.0 and uses the company’s Blade Battery along with Cell-to-Body technology.
It also gets Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control, which is designed to help manage torque delivery and improve driving behaviour.
Inside the cabin, buyers get a rotating touchscreen infotainment system along with a panoramic glass roof. The combination gives the electric SUV a distinctly premium feel.
The SEALION 7 Dynamic will be offered in four exterior colours:
- Atlantis Grey
- Cosmos Black
- Aurora White
- Shark Grey
Festive offer adds more value
BYD has also extended its “Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD” festive campaign to the new Dynamic variant.

Customers purchasing the SEALION 7 Dynamic can receive a complimentary 7kW home charger with installation. This can be particularly useful for owners who plan to charge the SUV overnight at home.
The offer also includes a 10-year roadside assistance extension.
In addition, buyers get an extended warranty of 10 years or 1.5 lakh kilometres, whichever comes first, for the LFP low-voltage battery.
For an expensive electric vehicle, these additional ownership benefits could make a meaningful difference to buyers who are concerned about long-term running and maintenance costs.
BYD SEALION 7 already has a presence in India
The SEALION 7 was introduced in India in 2025 and, according to BYD, more than 4,000 units are currently operating in the country.
The company says it has crossed 15,000 customers in India and currently operates 49 showrooms across 40 cities.
BYD India entered the Indian market in 2007 with electric buses and commercial mobility solutions before expanding into passenger electric vehicles.
Its current Indian portfolio includes the SEALION 7, eMAX 7, ATTO 3, SEAL and e6.
The company also operates two manufacturing facilities in India covering more than 140,000 square metres, with total investment in the country crossing $200 million.
Can the SEALION 7 Dynamic shake up the premium EV market?
The launch of the SEALION 7 Dynamic comes at a time when India’s premium electric vehicle market is becoming increasingly crowded. Buyers now have more choices across SUVs, sedans and crossover-style EVs.
With its ₹41.90 lakh introductory price, 71.8kWh battery, claimed 520km range and premium equipment, the Dynamic variant gives BYD another way to attract customers who may have previously considered the SEALION 7 too expensive.
Whether the lower-priced variant can significantly increase sales will depend on factors such as real-world range, charging infrastructure, after-sales support and how buyers respond to its pricing against rivals.
For now, though, BYD has made the SEALION 7 considerably more tempting by bringing its entry price down while keeping plenty of the technology that defines the model.
