Suriya scores his second Rs 200-crore worldwide film of the year after ‘Karuppu’ as the family drama continues to draw audiences in its second week.
Suriya’s latest release, Vishwanath and Sons, has achieved a major box office milestone, crossing the Rs 200-crore mark worldwide. The achievement makes it the actor’s second film this year to enter the coveted club after Karuppu.
The makers celebrated the milestone by releasing a special poster announcing that the film had surpassed Rs 200 crore in worldwide gross collections and was “still counting.” They also credited families for continuing to support the film on the big screen.
‘Vishwanath and Sons’ Holds Strong in Second Week
The Venky Atluri directorial has maintained a steady presence at the ticket counters even after completing its opening week.
According to Sacnilk estimates, the film collected around Rs 2.05 crore net in India on its second Monday, taking its cumulative domestic net collection to approximately Rs 102.70 crore.
Its India gross collection currently stands at around Rs 118.80 crore. The film has also performed well internationally, with its overseas gross reaching Rs 59 crore after adding approximately Rs 1 crore on Day 11.
On the 11th day, the Tamil version reportedly contributed around Rs 1.15 crore, while the Telugu version brought in approximately Rs 90 lakh.
Strong Opening Weekend Set the Pace
Vishwanath and Sons began its theatrical journey with an impressive Rs 15.35 crore collection on opening day.
Business picked up sharply over the weekend, with the film earning Rs 22.25 crore on Saturday, followed by another strong Rs 20.55 crore on Sunday.

The momentum continued into the second weekend. After earning Rs 4.50 crore on Day 8, collections jumped to Rs 7.25 crore on Day 9 and further improved to Rs 7.30 crore on Day 10.
The sustained performance has now helped the film move beyond the Rs 200-crore worldwide milestone, adding another commercial success to Suriya’s 2026 run.
Suriya Gets Another Rs 200-Crore Film
The milestone carries additional significance for Suriya, as Vishwanath and Sons becomes his second release this year to cross Rs 200 crore globally, following Karuppu.

The back-to-back achievement underlines what has turned into a particularly successful year at the box office for the actor.
Directed by Venky Atluri, the film features Suriya alongside Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon and Radhika Sarathkumar.
The supporting cast includes Rajiv Menon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sre, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat and George Maryan in important roles.
What Is ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ About?
Released in theatres on August 14, the family drama follows Sanjay Vishwanath, an international shooter whose life begins to change as he navigates ageing, family responsibilities and an unexpected romance.
Rather than relying only on spectacle, the film blends its central character’s personal journey with family emotions a combination that appears to have connected with moviegoers during its theatrical run.
With the film now past Rs 200 crore worldwide and still running in cinemas, attention will turn to how far Vishwanath and Sons can push its final global total.
