Yash’s ‘Toxic’ Eyes Rs 50 Crore Before Release: A-Rating Fails to Slow Advance Booking Frenzy

Yash appears ready to unleash another box-office storm. His highly anticipated Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is witnessing a massive response in advance bookings, despite receiving an A certificate ahead of its theatrical release on August 26.

According to advance booking figures tracked by Sacnilk, the film has accumulated approximately Rs 41.03 crore for Day 1 when blocked seats are included.

More importantly, confirmed ticket sales alone have generated around Rs 31.89 crore, with approximately 8.94 lakh tickets sold across 17,692 shows.

And the biggest number may still be ahead.

With bookings yet to fully open across several markets, Toxic could potentially move closer to the Rs 50-crore mark in Day 1 advance sales before Yash even arrives on the big screen.

Karnataka Goes Wild for Yash

Unsurprisingly, Karnataka is leading the advance booking race.

The state has reportedly generated around Rs 17.31 crore, including blocked seats, with occupancy at approximately 55 percent across nearly 2,000 shows.

More than 1,100 shows have already been marked as almost houseful, highlighting the extraordinary demand for Yash’s return.

Bengaluru alone has contributed approximately Rs 10.67 crore, including blocked seats, across 1,039 shows, with occupancy hovering around 55 percent.

Meanwhile, Mysuru has emerged as another major centre, registering around Rs 1.06 crore and an impressive 88 percent occupancy.

The numbers once again underline the extraordinary pull Yash enjoys in his home market following the nationwide success of the KGF franchise.

Hindi Version Adds Over Rs 15.5 Crore

The excitement is not limited to Karnataka.

The Hindi version of Toxic has reportedly generated more than Rs 15.5 crore from regular 2D shows alone, with premium formats including IMAX, 4DX and Dolby Cinema adding further business.

Among major Hindi-speaking centres, Delhi-NCR is leading with approximately Rs 2.26 crore, including blocked seats.

Mumbai follows with around Rs 1.54 crore, while Pune has contributed approximately Rs 86.61 lakh.

Interestingly, occupancy levels in some of these major cities remain relatively modest, suggesting there is still considerable room for bookings to accelerate in the final stretch before release.

Maharashtra, Gujarat and Odisha Show Strong Demand

Several other states are contributing significantly to Toxic’s advance booking total.

Maharashtra has generated approximately Rs 3.96 crore, including blocked seats, while Gujarat has recorded around Rs 2.85 crore.

Delhi has crossed approximately Rs 2.67 crore, while Odisha has emerged as another strong market with around Rs 1.56 crore in advance sales and occupancy of roughly 43 percent.

The geographical spread of bookings suggests that Toxic is not relying solely on Yash’s traditional Kannada market for its opening.

Tamil Nadu Could Still Deliver a Surprise

Tamil Nadu presents another interesting opportunity for the film.

The state has already registered approximately Rs 2 crore, including blocked seats, from around 1,455 shows.

Yet reported real occupancy stands at only around 12 percent.

That leaves substantial capacity still available, meaning Tamil Nadu’s contribution could climb sharply if bookings accelerate closer to release.

Premium Formats Join the ‘Toxic’ Mania

Premium screenings are also attracting audiences.

In Bengaluru, the Kannada IMAX version has reportedly generated around Rs 85.91 lakh, including blocked seats, while 4DX screenings have added approximately Rs 27.73 lakh.

The film’s Hindi IMAX and 4DX versions are also contributing to the overall tally, with encouraging occupancy reported at select centres.

Such demand for premium formats could further strengthen the film’s opening-day gross, given their higher average ticket prices.

Rs 50 Crore Before Day 1?

What makes Toxic’s current advance booking performance particularly significant is that bookings have not yet fully opened across all markets.

Overall real occupancy reportedly remains around 32 percent, leaving a sizeable portion of available capacity unsold.

With Rs 31.89 crore from confirmed bookings and approximately Rs 41.03 crore when blocked seats are included, the film is already positioned for a major opening.

If the remaining shows gain momentum across the Hindi markets, Tamil Nadu, Telugu-speaking regions and other territories, the film could potentially approach the Rs 50-crore advance booking milestone.

Whether it reaches that figure remains to be seen, but one thing is already clear: the A-rating has done little to dampen the pre-release excitement surrounding Yash’s comeback.

Yash Leads a Star-Studded Cast

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups features Yash alongside an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.

The film arrives in cinemas on August 26, when the focus will shift from its remarkable advance bookings to the number that matters next its opening-day box-office collection.
