Toxic Box Office Day 3: Yash Starrer Drops to ₹27.75 Crore Despite Holiday Boost, Can It Bounce Back?

Yash’s Toxic may have started its theatrical journey with blockbuster numbers, but its box office trend is now attracting attention for a different reason. After registering a huge opening, the film witnessed another significant decline on its third day, despite getting some support from the Raksha Bandhan holiday.

According to early trade estimates, Toxic collected approximately ₹27.75 crore on Day 3, taking its three-day domestic total to around ₹178 crore.

The numbers remain impressive in isolation, but the sharp fall from the film’s extraordinary opening day has raised questions about how strongly it can hold during the remainder of its extended opening weekend.

Toxic sees sharp fall after ₹111.75 crore opening

The Yash starrer reportedly began its run with an enormous ₹111.75 crore on Day 1. However, collections dropped considerably to around ₹38.50 crore on the second day.

On Day 3, the downward movement continued, with the film estimated to have earned ₹27.75 crore.

The significant difference between the opening-day collection and subsequent numbers means the film’s Saturday and Sunday performance will be closely watched.

Hindi market emerges as Toxic’s biggest contributor

Interestingly, the Hindi market has emerged as the biggest contributor to Toxic’s domestic business so far.

Of its estimated ₹178 crore three-day collection, the Hindi belt has reportedly contributed approximately ₹101.25 crore.

Karnataka follows with around ₹41.50 crore, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have generated an estimated ₹23.50 crore.

The film has collected approximately ₹8.75 crore from Tamil Nadu and another ₹3 crore from Kerala.

While the Hindi version received some support from the holiday, South Indian markets reportedly witnessed a sharper decline, with business in some territories falling substantially compared with the previous day.

Can Toxic reach ₹225 crore over extended weekend?

Current industry projections suggest that Toxic could finish its five-day extended opening weekend with domestic collections of approximately ₹225 crore.

However, reaching or surpassing that figure will depend heavily on how the movie performs over the weekend.

Early booking trends indicate that Karnataka could see some improvement on Saturday. The Hindi version, meanwhile, may face a tougher test if walk-in audiences continue to slow.

A strong weekend jump would therefore be crucial for the film to regain momentum following its steep post-opening decline.

High costs put Toxic’s box office performance under scrutiny

Despite crossing approximately ₹178 crore in India within three days, the film’s commercial performance is being examined against its reportedly substantial production costs and expectations surrounding its non-theatrical recoveries.

That makes the coming days particularly important. A film mounted on a large scale requires sustained theatrical business, and the size of Toxic’s opening means expectations are naturally higher.

For now, the movie has delivered a huge cumulative number, but its day-to-day trend remains the bigger talking point.
