Yash’s ‘Toxic’ Storms Past ₹150 Crore in India: Can Mixed Reviews Stop Its ₹200 Crore Charge?
The Geetu Mohandas directorial crossed the major domestic milestone during Day 3 live tracking, with its Hindi version currently contributing the biggest share.
Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is proving that divided reviews do not always translate into weak ticket sales. The gangster action drama has crossed ₹150 crore net in India during its third day in cinemas, continuing the extraordinary momentum generated by its record-breaking opening.
According to box-office tracker Sacnilk, Toxic had earned an estimated ₹11.78 crore net on Day 3 from 13,263 reported shows as of 5.03 pm on Friday. Its cumulative India net collection consequently reached approximately ₹150.53 crore, while the domestic gross stood at ₹179.75 crore.

Hindi version leads Day 3 collections
The Hindi version is currently driving the film’s third-day business, contributing an estimated ₹8.45 crore to the live total. Kannada follows with approximately ₹1.94 crore, while the Telugu and Tamil versions have added around ₹98 lakh and ₹41 lakh, respectively.
The Malayalam version’s contribution had not been reflected in the available Day 3 language-wise breakdown at the time of writing.
This performance is particularly noteworthy because Toxic arrived with an ‘A’ certificate, potentially limiting its appeal among family audiences. Despite that restriction and the mixed response from critics and viewers, Yash’s star power appears to be keeping theatres busy during the opening weekend.
‘Toxic’ opened with a massive ₹101.10 crore
Toxic began its theatrical journey with an estimated ₹101.10 crore India net collection on its opening day. The film played across 24,579 shows, registering one of the biggest domestic openings for an Indian release in recent years.

Its Day 1 India gross stood at approximately ₹120.75 crore, while international markets helped push the worldwide opening beyond ₹137 crore, according to the latest tracker data. The Hindi version alone reportedly contributed around ₹55 crore on the first day. (NDTV)
The movie witnessed a sizeable decline on Day 2 but still added ₹37.65 crore net in India, taking its two-day domestic net total to ₹138.75 crore. Such a drop was widely expected after the enormous opening-day rush, although the film’s performance over its first weekend will offer a clearer indication of its long-term prospects.
Is the ₹200 crore worldwide milestone next?
Several industry reports placed Toxic’s worldwide gross at approximately ₹190.10 crore after two days, including overseas earnings of around ₹24.25 crore. However, box-office totals differ between trackers because overseas figures are frequently revised as additional market reports arrive. (Outlook India)
With Day 3 collections now being added, the film is expected to cross the ₹200 crore worldwide milestone shortly. Its next major domestic target will also be reaching ₹200 crore net in India.
The real test, however, will begin after the opening weekend. Toxic must maintain steady weekday collections to prove that its initial run has been driven by more than advance bookings, Yash’s massive fan following and curiosity surrounding the film.
Yash takes on a dual role
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic presents Yash in the dual roles of Raya and his son Ticket. Set in Portuguese-era Goa, the film follows Raya’s rise through a dangerous criminal empire before building towards an intense confrontation involving the next generation.
Nayanthara plays Raya’s sister Ganga, while Kiara Advani appears as Nadia and Rukmini Vasanth portrays Mellisa. The supporting cast includes Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Akshay Oberoi.
The Central Board of Film Certification cleared the movie with an ‘A’ certificate without ordering visual cuts. However, certain words were reportedly muted or replaced, with statutory warnings added across its different language versions.
For now, the mixed reviews have done little to halt Toxic’s box-office charge. Whether the film can sustain that excitement after its headline-grabbing opening weekend remains the bigger question.
