‘Irumudi’ Day 7: Ravi Teja Film Hits ₹124.85 Crore, but ‘Toxic’ Takes Over Screens Can It Hold On?
The Telugu mass entertainer completed a strong opening week, though the arrival of Yash’s Toxic has created fresh pressure on its theatre count.
Ravi Teja’s Irumudi has completed its first week in cinemas on a strong note, reaching an estimated ₹124.85 crore worldwide despite the usual weekday slowdown.
The film has received its biggest support from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, while its Telugu-language version continues to contribute almost its entire domestic business. However, the arrival of Yash’s Toxic has changed the theatrical landscape, with several cinemas reportedly reducing Irumudi shows to accommodate the new release.
‘Irumudi’ earns ₹6.90 crore on Day 7
According to estimates from box-office tracker Sacnilk, Irumudi collected approximately ₹6.90 crore net in India on Day 7 from around 2,400 shows.
The collection was 32.4% lower than its Day 6 earnings of ₹10.20 crore. Despite the decline, the film ended its opening week with an impressive India net total of ₹92.15 crore.
Its India gross collection reached approximately ₹106.95 crore, while overseas markets contributed a cumulative ₹17.90 crore. This pushed the film’s worldwide gross to an estimated ₹124.85 crore. Sacnilk
| Collection category | Estimated earnings |
|---|---|
| Day 7 India net | ₹6.90 crore |
| Opening-week India net | ₹92.15 crore |
| India gross | ₹106.95 crore |
| Overseas gross | ₹17.90 crore |
| Worldwide gross | ₹124.85 crore |
Telugu version remains the driving force
The Telugu version collected an estimated ₹6.89 crore net from 2,358 shows on the seventh day. It recorded an overall occupancy of approximately 55%.
Night screenings attracted the strongest response, registering 66.23% occupancy. Evening shows followed at 55.54%, while afternoon screenings recorded 43.15%. Morning shows remained comparatively lower at 34.62%.
The Tamil version added approximately ₹1 lakh from 42 shows, recording an overall occupancy of around 16%.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana lead the business
Irumudi generated an estimated India gross collection of ₹8.05 crore on Day 7. Of this, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed approximately ₹7.25 crore, confirming the film’s powerful hold in the Telugu states.
Karnataka added around ₹60 lakh, while Tamil Nadu contributed ₹8 lakh. The remaining Indian markets generated approximately ₹12 lakh.

The numbers underline Ravi Teja’s continuing popularity among Telugu audiences, particularly for commercially packaged mass entertainers.
‘Toxic’ creates fresh theatre pressure
Although Irumudi completed its first week successfully, its second-week journey has begun with a major challenge. Yash’s Toxic has arrived in cinemas with enormous pre-release buzz, prompting multiplexes and single-screen theatres to revise their schedules.
Several theatres have reportedly replaced Irumudi shows with screenings of Toxic. The change could affect the Ravi Teja starrer’s daily collections even if audience interest remains steady, as fewer shows naturally limit the number of tickets available.
Producer-distributor Natti Kumar has criticised the reported allocation, claiming that nearly 250 theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were assigned to Toxic at the expense of Irumudi. He described the reported decision as “unfair”.

According to Natti Kumar, some theatres subsequently restored Irumudi following audience demand. He claimed that around 30 cinemas had brought the film back by late evening, with more expected to follow. Deccan Chronicle
The exact number of affected or restored theatres has not been independently confirmed.
Can family audiences help ‘Irumudi’ survive?
One factor that could work in Irumudi’s favour is its appeal among family audiences. Toxic carries an adult certification, which may limit its reach among younger viewers and families seeking a more broadly accessible theatrical option.
If Irumudi continues to register healthy evening and night occupancy, exhibitors could restore additional shows during the weekend. Theatre owners generally adjust schedules according to real-time demand, meaning the screen battle is far from settled.
The second weekend will now be crucial. With ₹124.85 crore worldwide already collected, Irumudi has established itself as a commercial success in its opening week. Whether it can continue growing will depend on audience demand, word of mouth and, most importantly, the number of screens it manages to retain against Toxic.
