‘Irumudi’ Box Office Day 7: Ravi Teja Film Hits ₹124.85 Crore, but ‘Toxic’ Theatre Row Takes a Dramatic Turn
Despite earning more than ₹120 crore worldwide, the Ravi Teja starrer reportedly lost several screens to Yash’s Toxic, prompting criticism and protests in parts of the Telugu states.
Ravi Teja’s Irumudi has completed an impressive opening week at the box office, crossing ₹90 crore net in India and reaching an estimated ₹124.85 crore worldwide. However, the film’s strong commercial run has become entangled in a growing controversy over the allocation of theatres to Yash’s Toxic.
According to estimates published by box-office tracker Sacnilk, Irumudi collected ₹6.90 crore net in India on its seventh day. The film was screened across approximately 2,400 shows on Thursday.
Its Day 7 performance represented a decline of nearly 32.4% from Wednesday, when it earned an estimated ₹10.20 crore net.
Irumudi Day 7 box-office collection
After seven days in cinemas, Irumudi has registered an estimated ₹92.15 crore India net collection. Its domestic gross stands at approximately ₹106.95 crore.

Telugu version continues to dominate
The Telugu version remained the biggest contributor, collecting an estimated ₹6.89 crore net from 2,358 shows on Day 7. It registered an overall occupancy of approximately 55%.
Night screenings delivered the strongest response, recording 66.23% occupancy, followed by evening shows at 55.54%. Afternoon occupancy stood at 43.15%, while morning shows recorded 34.62%.
The Tamil version, meanwhile, earned approximately ₹1 lakh from 42 shows, with an overall occupancy of nearly 16%.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana lead regional earnings
Irumudi recorded an estimated domestic gross of ₹8.05 crore on its seventh day, with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remaining its most important markets.
The two Telugu states contributed around ₹7.25 crore, while Karnataka added approximately ₹60 lakh. Tamil Nadu generated about ₹8 lakh, and the rest of India contributed close to ₹12 lakh.
‘Toxic’ reportedly replaces ‘Irumudi’ in theatres
The box-office milestone arrived alongside a dispute over the number of screens available to Irumudi. Reports claimed that several theatres screening the Ravi Teja starrer were reassigned to Yash’s Toxic following the latter’s theatrical arrival.

Producer-distributor Natti Kumar criticised the reported allocation and described it as “unfair”. He claimed that nearly 250 theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were allotted to Toxic, allegedly at the expense of Irumudi.
The claims have also placed producer-distributor Dil Raju under criticism from sections of the film trade and social media users. However, the precise number of affected theatres has not been independently confirmed.
Audience protest reportedly forces theatre to restore ‘Irumudi’
According to Natti Kumar, the theatre dispute prompted a dramatic audience reaction in Mahbubnagar.
“In a theatre in Mahbubnagar, audiences raised slogans and forced the management to screen Irumudi instead of Toxic,” he was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
He further claimed that approximately 30 theatres had restored Irumudi screenings by late evening. More than 100 additional theatres could reportedly bring the movie back over the coming days, though this will depend on audience demand and the commercial performance of both releases.
The reduction in screens could make Irumudi’s second-week performance more challenging. At the same time, the reported restoration of shows may give the film another opportunity to maintain its momentum in the crucial Telugu market.
With ₹124.85 crore worldwide already in its account, Irumudi has delivered a commercially strong opening week. Its second-week journey will now depend not only on audience interest but also on whether the film can retain enough theatres amid competition from Toxic.
