Fans waiting to see Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna together on the big screen finally have a date to mark on their calendars. Their upcoming film Ranabaali is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026.

The makers confirmed the announcement with a striking new poster featuring Vijay Deverakonda in a fierce warrior avatar. The film was previously expected to open on September 11, but its theatrical debut has now been moved to October. Announcing the release, the makers teased, “The darkest chapter of our history opens this October,” further increasing curiosity around the movie’s intense historical setting.

What is ‘Ranabaali’ about?

Set in pre-Independence India, Ranabaali follows a fearless and rebellious warrior who rises against colonial oppression while attempting to protect his people. Its story unfolds during an era marked by famine, suffering and resistance.

The film is expected to combine large-scale action with an emotionally charged story about courage, sacrifice and the struggle for freedom. Vijay Deverakonda plays the central warrior, while Rashmika Mandanna reportedly portrays a powerful character named Jayamma.

The cast also includes Arnold Vosloo, widely remembered for his role in The Mummy franchise. He will reportedly appear as the British officer Sir Theodore Hector, placing him in direct conflict with Vijay’s character.

Vijay and Rashmika reunite on screen

Ranabaali brings Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna together again after their popular films Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019).

Their reunion remains one of the movie’s biggest attractions. While Geetha Govindam became a major romantic entertainer, Dear Comrade presented the actors in a more intense and emotional story. With Ranabaali, the pair will enter an entirely different world shaped by war, resistance and historical conflict.
