Rupali Ganguly Supports Jharkhand Students’ Protest: “Their Determination Deserves Respect, Not Silence”
The Anupamaa actress urges authorities to address students’ concerns over alleged recruitment exam irregularities, as protests demanding a CBI probe continue in Ranchi.
Ranchi: Television actress Rupali Ganguly has voiced her support for the ongoing student protests in Jharkhand, where aspirants are demanding an investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) and other agencies.
The protesters have been calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry, alleging irregularities in recruitment processes and seeking greater transparency and accountability.
Taking to social media platform X, the Anupamaa star expressed solidarity with the students and urged the authorities to respond to their concerns.“The students of Jharkhand are standing firm in the pouring rain, peacefully demanding justice. Their determination deserves respect, not silence. The government must listen, ensure accountability, and address their concerns,” Rupali Ganguly wrote.
In a follow-up message, the actress highlighted the importance of the students’ aspirations and hoped for an early resolution.“They are the future of the state and the nation. May justice prevail soon, and may they return home with hope. #JharkhandStudents #JusticeForStudents,” she added.
Protests Gain Momentum in Ranchi
The demonstrations have continued in Ranchi, with images and videos of students protesting in heavy rain drawing widespread attention on social media.
What began as a small gathering at Vapu Batika Ground has gradually evolved into a larger movement, attracting participation from students across Jharkhand.

On July 29, hundreds of students assembled at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, carrying the Indian national flag and raising slogans while demanding accountability from the Hemant Soren-led government over the alleged examination irregularities.
Students Demand CBI Probe
Among the key faces of the movement is student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who has launched an indefinite hunger strike at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in support of the protesters’ demands.

The students are seeking a fair and transparent investigation into alleged irregularities in multiple recruitment examinations. Their primary demands include:
- A CBI probe into the alleged irregularities
- Cancellation of the 14th JPSC Preliminary Examination
- An investigation into examinations conducted by the TDPL agency
As the protests continue, the students have maintained that their movement is aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency in government recruitment processes.
Meanwhile, Rupali Ganguly’s statement has received significant attention online, with many social media users appreciating the actress for publicly expressing support for the students’ peaceful demonstration.
