Google Pixel 11 Price Leak Sparks Buzz: Higher Prices, Bigger Storage, But Why Are the Batteries Getting Smaller…?
A new leak ahead of Google’s August 12 launch event suggests the Pixel 11 lineup could arrive with higher prices, 256GB as standard storage, and slightly smaller batteries than the previous generation.
With the Made by Google launch event just around the corner, a fresh leak has revealed what could be the pricing and hardware details of the upcoming Google Pixel 11 series. If the report proves accurate, buyers may have to spend more for Google’s next-generation flagship smartphones but there could be a good reason behind the higher price tags.
The event is scheduled for August 12, where Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel Watch 5.
Leaked Prices Suggest a Premium Jump
According to well-known tipster Roland Quandt, the Google Pixel 11 could start at GBP 879 for the 256GB storage variant. This marks a noticeable increase compared to the Pixel 10, which launched at GBP 799 with 128GB of storage.
The leak also points to higher prices across the premium models:
- Google Pixel 11 Pro: Starting at GBP 1,079 (256GB)
- Google Pixel 11 Pro XL: Starting at GBP 1,279 (256GB)
If these prices are accurate, the entire Pixel 11 lineup will be more expensive than its predecessors.
Why Could the Prices Be Going Up?
The reported price increase may not simply be a case of Google raising prices. Instead, the company is expected to double the base storage from 128GB to 256GB across the entire Pixel 11 lineup.
This means buyers would receive more storage as standard, potentially offering better long-term value despite the higher upfront cost.

Earlier reports also suggested that Google has been evaluating price increases in Europe, with rising component and manufacturing costs believed to be one of the key reasons behind the move.
Smaller Batteries Could Surprise Buyers
While storage appears to be improving, the latest leak indicates that battery capacities may be slightly reduced compared to the Pixel 10 series.
The rumoured battery capacities are:

Google Pixel 11: 4,985mAh- Google Pixel 11 Pro: 4,850mAh
- Google Pixel 11 Pro XL: 5,115mAh
For comparison, the current Pixel lineup includes:
- Pixel 10: 4,970mAh
- Pixel 10 Pro: 4,870mAh
- Pixel 10 Pro XL: 5,200mAh
Although the differences are relatively small, the reductions have raised questions about whether Google plans to compensate with a more efficient chipset or software optimisations that could maintain—or even improve—battery life.
Official Details Still Awaited
At this stage, Google has not confirmed any of the leaked specifications or pricing information. As with all pre-launch leaks, the details should be treated as unofficial until the company makes an announcement.
The Made by Google event on August 12 is expected to provide complete information about the Pixel 11 series, including official pricing, specifications, availability, and new software features.
Until then, smartphone enthusiasts and potential buyers will have to rely on rumours as anticipation continues to build ahead of Google’s flagship launch.
