Vivo V80 Lite Packs a Monster 10,000mAh Battery But That’s Not Its Only Big Upgrade

Vivo is taking smartphone battery capacity to another level with its new V80 Lite, a device that immediately grabs attention for one specification a massive 10,000mAh battery.

The smartphone is set to make its official debut in Malaysia, with pre-orders already available through Vivo Malaysia. While the company has yet to reveal every specification and the final retail price, its early listing has confirmed several major features.

Beyond its enormous battery, the upcoming handset is set to offer a 1.5K OLED display, a 50MP Sony primary camera, a 32MP selfie camera, and IP68 and IP69 ratings for protection against dust and water.

But there is an important detail for buyers following the V80 Lite series: this isn’t simply the same V80 Lite sold in Pakistan with a bigger battery.

The Malaysian model appears to be a substantially different smartphone.

Vivo V80 Lite’s 10,000mAh Battery Steals the Spotlight

The headline feature is undoubtedly the phone’s 10,000mAh BlueVolt battery.

That capacity is considerably larger than what consumers typically see in mainstream smartphones and could make battery endurance one of the biggest selling points of the new Vivo V80 Lite.

For comparison, the V80 Lite variant released in Pakistan carries a 7,050mAh battery with 44W wired charging.

The jump to 10,000mAh therefore represents a substantial increase in capacity.

However, Vivo has yet to reveal all charging specifications for the Malaysian model, so details surrounding its charging speed will become clearer once the complete specification sheet is released.

50MP Sony Camera and 32MP Selfie Shooter

Vivo is also highlighting the phone’s camera hardware.

The upcoming V80 Lite will feature a 50-megapixel Sony primary camera, although the exact Sony sensor being used has not yet been detailed.

On the front, users will get a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

More information about additional rear cameras, video recording capabilities and photography features is expected alongside the full launch specifications.

1.5K OLED Display Confirmed

The display is another key attraction.

Vivo’s pre-order information confirms a 1.5K-resolution OLED panel for the Malaysian V80 Lite.

The full screen specifications, including its exact size and other panel details, have not been completely disclosed yet.

The Pakistan version, by comparison, features a 6.83-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Whether the Malaysian variant will retain a similar screen size while adopting the new design remains one of the details to watch.

IP68 and IP69 Ratings Add Extra Protection

Despite the focus on battery capacity, Vivo has not ignored durability.

The Vivo V80 Lite is listed with both IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering enhanced protection against dust and water under specified testing conditions.

Three RAM and Storage Configurations

The Malaysian version of the Vivo V80 Lite will reportedly be offered in three configurations:

• 6GB RAM + 128GB storage
• 6GB RAM + 256GB storage
• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage

Consumers will also have three colour choices Pink, Green and Black.

The company has yet to announce the final retail pricing for these variants. A placeholder price has appeared on the pre-order page, with official pricing expected to be revealed alongside the launch.

Why the Pakistan Vivo V80 Lite Is Different

The naming could create some confusion because Vivo has already launched a V80 Lite in Pakistan, but its specifications differ significantly from those being advertised for Malaysia.

The Pakistan model comes with a 6.83-inch 120Hz curved AMOLED display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo, a chipset manufactured using a 4nm process.

It offers 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage.

Its rear camera system includes a 50MP primary camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor, while the front carries a 32MP selfie camera.

Most importantly, the Pakistan version houses a 7,050mAh battery, compared with the enormous 10,000mAh unit being promoted for the Malaysian model.

The Pakistan handset also shares similarities with the Vivo S2 available in India.

Could Vivo’s 10,000mAh Battery Signal a Bigger Smartphone Trend?

Smartphone manufacturers have increasingly pushed battery capacities higher without necessarily turning devices into bulky rugged phones.

The 10,000mAh BlueVolt battery inside the new V80 Lite suggests Vivo is willing to push that trend even further.

A battery this large could be particularly attractive to heavy users, mobile gamers, travellers and consumers who prioritise endurance over having the thinnest possible device.

The remaining questions concern the phone’s processor, charging speed, complete display specifications and price.
