Indian smartphone maker Lava has expanded its Shark series with the launch of the Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G in India. The latest smartphone sits alongside the Shark 2 4G and Shark 2 5G, bringing upgraded hardware and 5G connectivity to the lineup.
Priced at Rs 16,699, the Shark 2 Pro 5G packs a 120Hz display, 50-megapixel AI rear camera, 6000mAh battery and Android 16. Lava is offering the handset in a single RAM and storage configuration and two colour options.

Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G price in India
The Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 16,699 for the sole 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
The smartphone is available through Lava-authorised online and offline retail channels across India.
Buyers can choose between Akash Blue and Nanda Silver colour options.
6.75-inch display gets 120Hz refresh rate
The Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels.
The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which should offer smoother scrolling and animations compared with traditional 60Hz panels.
Lava has also given the smartphone an IP64 rating for resistance against dust and water splashes, adding a layer of protection for everyday use.
Unisoc T8200 processor and Android 16
Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Unisoc T8200 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The device also supports up to 6GB of virtual RAM, allowing a portion of the internal storage to be used as additional memory when required.
On the software side, the Shark 2 Pro 5G runs Android 16 out of the box.
Lava says users will get a vanilla Android experience without bloatware. The company has also promised one major Android OS upgrade and two years of security updates.

Another addition is Vayu AI, Lava’s own AI-powered chatbot integrated into the smartphone.
50MP AI camera with 2K video recording
For photography, the Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G features a 50-megapixel AI rear camera.
On the front is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone supports Dual View Video, which adds more flexibility while recording content, along with video recording at up to 2K resolution at 30fps.
6000mAh battery promises longer usage
Keeping the Shark 2 Pro 5G running is a large 6000mAh battery.
The battery supports 18W wired charging through the phone’s USB Type-C port.
While the large battery is one of the device’s notable specifications, the 18W charging speed is relatively modest compared with the faster charging technologies available on some smartphones in this price segment.
5G connectivity and side-mounted fingerprint sensor
As its name suggests, the Shark 2 Pro supports 5G connectivity. Other connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB Type-C.
For security, Lava has provided a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
