Vivo X Fold 6 India Launch Set for October 6: 200MP Camera, 7,000mAh Battery But How Much Will It Cost?
Vivo X Fold 6 is gearing up for its India debut on October 6, with a massive 8.02-inch foldable AMOLED display, 200MP camera, Dimensity 9500 Super chipset and a 7,000mAh battery. The biggest mystery, however, remains its India price.
Vivo is preparing to strengthen its premium foldable smartphone lineup in India, with the Vivo X Fold 6 expected to make its debut on October 6. The upcoming book-style foldable could emerge as one of the company’s most ambitious smartphones yet, combining a large folding display with flagship-grade cameras and an unusually big battery for the category.
While Vivo has teased its upcoming foldable in India, the company is yet to disclose its India pricing, storage configurations and complete availability details. However, since the X Fold 6 has already launched in China, its specifications provide a strong indication of what Indian buyers could get.
The October 6 event is also expected to feature the Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 FE.
Vivo X Fold 6 India Launch: What Has Been Teased?
Ahead of the launch event, Vivo India shared a teaser on X showing what appears to be a book-style foldable smartphone.
Although the company did not explicitly name the handset in the teaser, its design resembles the Vivo X Fold 6 introduced in China.
There was another interesting detail hidden in the promotional video what appeared to be a mixed reality headset.
Vivo has not yet provided specifications, branding or India availability information for the headset. Therefore, it remains unclear whether the device will receive a commercial launch in India or merely be showcased alongside Vivo’s new products.
Huge 8.02-Inch AMOLED Display
If the Indian model follows its Chinese counterpart, the Vivo X Fold 6 will feature an 8.02-inch foldable AMOLED main display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
Users will not have to unfold the device every time they want to check a message or perform a quick task. The handset also features a 6.51-inch outer display, giving it a more conventional smartphone experience when folded.
The combination could make the X Fold 6 suitable for users who want a phone for everyday use that can transform into a larger screen for entertainment, productivity and multitasking.
Dimensity 9500 Super Brings Flagship Power
Under the hood, the X Fold 6 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset.
Vivo is positioning the processor around flagship performance, AI capabilities and optimisation for the foldable form factor.
The Chinese version runs OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16. Vivo, however, has yet to confirm whether the Indian variant will ship with exactly the same software experience.
200MP Camera Could Be One of Its Biggest Attractions
The camera department could become a major selling point for the Vivo X Fold 6.
Its rear triple-camera setup is headlined by a massive 200MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It is accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera.
Vivo has once again collaborated with Zeiss for the camera system, continuing the photography-focused partnership seen across several of the company’s premium smartphones.
For buyers who have traditionally had to compromise on cameras when choosing a foldable, the X Fold 6’s hardware could make it particularly interesting.
7,000mAh Battery Inside a Foldable
Perhaps the most surprising specification is its battery.
The Vivo X Fold 6 packs a 7,000mAh battery, an impressive capacity considering the physical limitations of a foldable smartphone.
It supports 80W wired fast charging as well as 40W wireless charging.
Despite housing a large battery and two displays, Vivo claims the handset weighs around 228 grams and measures approximately 4.40mm thick when unfolded.

It also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, adding another layer of durability to the premium device.
Vivo X Fold 6 India Price: What Could It Cost?
This is where the biggest unanswered question lies.
Vivo has not announced the official India price of the X Fold 6.
In China, pricing reportedly begins at CNY 7,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. A straightforward currency conversion puts that at roughly ₹1.14 lakh.
Meanwhile, the high-end 16GB RAM + 1TB storage model is priced at CNY 10,999, equivalent to approximately ₹1.58 lakh through direct conversion.

These figures should not be treated as expected Indian retail prices. Import costs, taxes, localisation, launch offers and Vivo’s positioning in the Indian premium smartphone market could significantly change the final figure.
Is Vivo X Fold 6 the Foldable to Watch?
On paper, the Vivo X Fold 6 certainly has the ingredients to attract attention in India’s ultra-premium smartphone segment.
An 8.02-inch 120Hz AMOLED foldable display, 200MP flagship camera, Dimensity 9500 Super processor, 7,000mAh battery, wireless charging and IP58/IP59 protection create an unusually comprehensive package.
But specifications tell only part of the story.
The final verdict will depend heavily on India pricing, software optimisation, long-term durability and how Vivo positions the X Fold 6 against established premium foldable rivals.
Fortunately, buyers will not have to wait much longer. Vivo’s October 6 event should finally reveal the India-specific variants, pricing and availability and tell us whether the X Fold 6 has the right price to match its impressive hardware.
