iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max Prices Revealed: Apple Raises the Bar With A20 Pro, New Burgundy Colour… Sales Start September 18
Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro lineup starts at $1,199 in the US and brings the A20 Pro chipset, in-house C2 modem and improved battery life, with pre-orders opening September 12.
Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, revealing pricing and availability details for its latest premium smartphones following the company’s ‘Surprise and Shine’ event.
The new Pro models bring several hardware upgrades over the iPhone 17 Pro series, including Apple’s latest A20 Pro chipset and its new C2 modem.
But alongside the hardware improvements comes another change buyers will immediately notice higher starting prices.
In the United States, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299. Both entry-level configurations come with 256GB of storage.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max prices revealed
The iPhone 18 Pro 256GB carries a starting price of $1,199, equivalent to roughly ₹1.06 lakh through a direct currency conversion.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max 256GB, meanwhile, starts at $1,299, or approximately ₹1.14 lakh when directly converted.
These conversions should not be confused with the smartphones’ official India prices.
Apple’s pricing in India can differ considerably because of local taxes, duties, currency considerations and regional pricing strategy. Indian buyers should therefore rely on Apple’s official local pricing rather than converted US figures when comparing purchase costs.
Pre-orders September 12, sales begin September 18
Buyers won’t have to wait long for the new Pro models.
Apple will begin accepting pre-orders on September 12, while retail availability is scheduled to start on September 18.
The relatively short gap between announcement and availability means Apple’s latest flagships will reach customers within days of their unveiling.
A20 Pro is at the heart of the new iPhones
Powering both smartphones is Apple’s latest-generation A20 Pro chipset.
The processor represents the latest step in Apple’s custom silicon strategy and will serve as the performance foundation for the company’s premium iPhones this generation.
Another significant change is the introduction of Apple’s in-house C2 modem.
The move further expands Apple’s control over important components inside the iPhone, reducing its dependence on externally sourced technology in another key area.
Apple makes big battery claims
Battery life is also receiving attention this generation.
Apple claims the iPhone 18 Pro can provide up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge under its specified usage conditions.

The larger iPhone 18 Pro Max stretches that claim to up to 30 hours.
As always, actual endurance will depend on factors including screen brightness, connectivity, applications and individual usage patterns.
Still, the figures suggest Apple is continuing to use the Pro Max’s larger physical footprint to provide additional endurance.
Burgundy joins the iPhone Pro colour lineup
Apple is also introducing a fresh colour for buyers who want something different from its more traditional finishes.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be available in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy.
The new Burgundy finish is likely to attract particular attention as the distinctive colour option for this generation.
Apple also highlights leasing
With flagship smartphone prices continuing to rise, Apple is also drawing attention to a leasing option for eligible customers who would prefer to spread the cost rather than paying the entire amount upfront.
Availability, eligibility and terms for such programmes can vary by market, so customers will need to check the options available in their respective regions.
Should buyers wait for official India pricing?
Absolutely.
While direct currency conversions put the US starting prices at approximately ₹1.06 lakh for the iPhone 18 Pro and ₹1.14 lakh for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, those figures should not be treated as Indian retail prices.
The final cost in India will depend on Apple’s official regional pricing.
What is already clear, however, is that Apple is positioning its latest Pro iPhones even further into premium territory.
With the A20 Pro chipset, C2 modem, improved battery claims and new Burgundy finish, the iPhone 18 Pro series brings meaningful hardware changes but the higher price means buyers will inevitably ask whether those improvements justify upgrading.
With pre-orders beginning September 12 and sales starting September 18, that decision is approaching quickly.
