iQOO 16 Design Leaked Ahead of Launch; That Huge Camera Module Isn’t the Only Surprise
Fresh iQOO 16 renders have reportedly surfaced online, pointing to a dramatically redesigned camera module, possible accent lighting and flagship-level hardware. An 8,500mAh battery, 165Hz OLED display and three 50MP rear cameras are among the specifications being tipped.
iQOO could be preparing some noticeable changes for its next flagship smartphone. The rumoured iQOO 16, expected to succeed the iQOO 15, has appeared in alleged renders online, giving an early glimpse at what could be one of the brand’s biggest design changes in recent years.
While iQOO has not officially announced the smartphone or confirmed its specifications, leaks surrounding the device are already gathering momentum. Beyond its new appearance, reports suggest the handset could feature a huge 8,500mAh battery, Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship processor and a high-refresh-rate Samsung OLED display.
Here is everything that has been tipped about the iQOO 16 so far.
iQOO 16 Leaked Renders Reveal a Major Camera Redesign
The biggest change visible in the alleged renders is on the back of the smartphone.
The iQOO 16 is shown with a large square-shaped camera island with rounded corners, marking a noticeable change in visual identity. The individual camera elements appear to be connected through angular lines, giving the module a more distinctive appearance.
Leaked images circulating on Weibo reportedly show the handset in black and white colour options.
The black model appears particularly striking, with what looks like blue accent lighting around sections of the camera module and towards the lower part of the rear panel.
Whether this lighting will make it to the final production model or serve a functional purpose beyond aesthetics remains unclear.
165Hz Samsung OLED Display Tipped
The display could also receive flagship treatment.
According to current leaks, the iQOO 16 may feature a 6.8-inch flat Samsung OLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.
Such a high refresh rate could make the handset particularly appealing to users interested in mobile gaming, an area where iQOO has traditionally placed considerable emphasis.
However, display resolution, peak brightness and other panel specifications have yet to be officially revealed.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro Could Power the iQOO 16
Another major rumour concerns what’s inside the phone.
The upcoming flagship is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s rumoured Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
Reports further suggest that the processor could be paired with as much as 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage, putting the device firmly in premium flagship territory if these specifications prove accurate.
Since the handset remains unannounced, the final chipset configuration should be treated as unconfirmed for now.
An 8,500mAh Battery Could Be the Biggest Upgrade
Perhaps the most eye-catching specification being reported is the battery.
The iQOO 16 could pack a massive 8,500mAh battery, considerably larger than batteries traditionally found inside mainstream flagship smartphones.

The phone is also rumoured to support 100W wired fast charging, along with wireless charging.
If iQOO manages to combine such a large battery with a relatively slim flagship design, battery endurance could become one of the handset’s biggest selling points.
Three 50MP Rear Cameras Tipped
Camera hardware could be another area where iQOO goes big.
Leaks point towards a triple rear camera system, potentially consisting of:
- 50MP primary camera
- 50MP ultra-wide camera
- 50MP telephoto camera
The front camera is also tipped to use a 50MP sensor for selfies and video calls.

Of course, megapixel numbers alone do not determine camera performance. Sensor size, image processing, stabilisation and lens quality will play an equally important role in determining how the final device performs.
iQOO 16 India Launch and Price: What Leaks Suggest
There is currently no official launch date for the iQOO 16.
However, early reports suggest that the smartphone could arrive in the Indian market around November or December 2026, although the timeline could change.
Pricing is similarly uncertain.
Early speculation points towards a starting price of approximately ₹74,990 for the base variant in India.
Importantly, iQOO has not confirmed this price, so buyers should treat the figure as an early estimate rather than official launch pricing.
With a possible 165Hz OLED screen, an enormous 8,500mAh battery, 100W charging, triple 50MP cameras and a completely redesigned rear panel, the iQOO 16 is shaping up to be an ambitious flagship at least on paper.
For now, though, virtually all major details surrounding the device remain based on leaks and rumours. The real picture will become clearer once iQOO begins officially teasing its next flagship.
