Asus Pad T3201M5A Review: ₹45,990 for a 144Hz OLED Tablet With 9,000mAh Battery… Is It Worth Buying?

The premium Android tablet market is becoming increasingly competitive, and Asus is making its latest pitch with a device focused less on raw flagship power and more on balancing portability, productivity and entertainment.

The Asus Pad T3201M5A, priced from ₹45,990, brings together a large 12.2-inch OLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, 8GB RAM and a sizeable 9,000mAh battery.

On paper, those specifications make an interesting combination. In everyday use, however, it is the screen and lightweight construction that help this Asus tablet stand out.

Surprisingly slim for a 12.2-inch tablet

Despite housing such a large display, the Asus Pad T3201M5A measures just 6.5mm thick and weighs 623 grams.

Asus uses a lightweight magnalium chassis with a fibreglass back cover, aiming to balance structural durability with portability.

Under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset.

It isn’t positioned as the latest flagship-class tablet processor, but it offers enough performance for the tasks Asus appears to be targeting streaming, web browsing, casual gaming, note-taking and everyday multitasking.

The processor is paired with 8GB RAM, while storage options include 128GB and 256GB.

Importantly, Asus hasn’t abandoned expandable storage. A microSD card of up to 1TB can be installed, potentially making the tablet considerably more useful for users with large media or document libraries.

With LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1 storage, general navigation and switching between everyday applications should remain responsive.

Users interested primarily in demanding gaming or maximum sustained performance may still prefer a more powerful flagship tablet, but that isn’t really what the T3201M5A is trying to be.

Asus GlideX turns the tablet into a productivity companion

Asus has also placed considerable emphasis on making the tablet work alongside other devices.

Asus GlideX enables cross-device functionality between the tablet and a PC, including screen sharing, file transfers and multi-device workflows.

Google Gemini integration adds AI-powered assistance for information retrieval and other supported tasks.
