Xiaomi Pad 9 spotted on certification site: Bigger battery, Snapdragon chip and faster launch could be on the way
A new certification listing has fuelled speculation that Xiaomi may soon unveil the Xiaomi Pad 9, with leaks pointing to a larger battery and flagship-grade performance.
Xiaomi may be preparing to launch its next premium tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 9, after the device reportedly appeared on China’s 3C certification platform.
The tablet, listed with the model number M656BA, is believed by tipsters to be the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 9. While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the device, the certification suggests that its debut could be closer than expected.
45W fast charging expected
According to the certification listing, the Xiaomi Pad 9 is expected to support 45W wired fast charging.
Although the charging speed appears to remain unchanged from the previous generation, the tablet is tipped to feature a larger battery, which could offer improved battery life for gaming, entertainment and productivity.
Leaked specifications hint at a battery upgrade
Industry tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the upcoming tablet will feature a 9,720mAh battery, slightly larger than the 9,200mAh battery found in the current Xiaomi Pad 8.
The device is also expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series octa-core processor, promising flagship-level performance for demanding applications and multitasking.
Meanwhile, the rumoured Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro is expected to deliver even stronger performance, although detailed specifications remain under wraps.

Since Xiaomi has not officially announced the tablet, these details should be treated as leaks until confirmed.
Launch could coincide with Xiaomi 18 series
The leaked information suggests that Xiaomi may introduce the Pad 9 in China later this year alongside its upcoming Xiaomi 18 smartphone series.

If the company follows a similar rollout strategy as previous generations, the tablet could make its way to international markets, including India, after its China debut.
How it compares with the Xiaomi Pad 8
The Xiaomi Pad 8, launched in India earlier this year, starts at ₹33,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
It features an 11.2-inch 3.2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10 support, and up to 800 nits peak brightness, making it one of the premium Android tablets in its segment.
The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and packs a 9,200mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging. It also includes a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera for video calls and selfies.
If the leaked specifications prove accurate, the Xiaomi Pad 9 could build upon this foundation with a larger battery while continuing to target users seeking flagship-level performance in a premium Android tablet.
