Royal Enfield Sells 1.18 Lakh Bikes in July… Domestic Demand Powers 34% Sales Jump Despite Export Slowdown
The iconic motorcycle maker posted strong year-on-year growth in July 2026, driven by robust domestic sales, rising interest in its first electric bike, and a major manufacturing expansion in Andhra Pradesh.
Royal Enfield has reported an impressive 34% year-on-year growth in motorcycle sales for July 2026, selling over 1.18 lakh motorcycles compared to 88,045 units in the same month last year.
The latest sales figures underline the company’s continued strength in the Indian market, where domestic demand remains the primary growth driver despite softer export performance.
Domestic Market Drives Growth
According to the company’s monthly sales data, domestic sales crossed 1.05 lakh units in July, marking a robust 38% increase over the 76,254 units sold during the corresponding period last year.
Meanwhile, exports rose to 12,915 units, registering a comparatively modest 10% growth from 11,791 units in July 2025.
Looking at the financial year so far, the trend becomes even more pronounced. Domestic sales have surged 33% to more than 4.06 lakh motorcycles, while exports have declined by 13%, falling to 42,168 units from 48,540 units during the same period last year.
This indicates that Royal Enfield’s overall growth is being largely fuelled by the Indian market, even as international shipments remain under pressure.
Flying Flea C6 and Expansion Plans Boost Confidence
Royal Enfield’s leadership credited the company’s steady performance to its popular motorcycle lineup and the positive response received for the Flying Flea C6, the brand’s first electric motorcycle.
Encouraged by the initial interest, the company plans to expand its retail presence by opening 10 additional sales and service touchpoints in Bengaluru, complementing its existing showroom in Jayanagar.

The company has also announced an investment of ₹1,225 crore for the first phase of a new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. Once operational around FY2030, the plant is expected to add an annual production capacity of up to 4.5 lakh motorcycles, supporting Royal Enfield’s long-term growth plans.
Limited Edition Models Continue to Attract Buyers
Beyond regular sales, Royal Enfield continues to witness strong enthusiasm for its special edition motorcycles.

The company recently completed the 22nd edition of the Himalayan Odyssey, bringing together riders from eight countries for an adventure spanning more than 4,200 kilometres across the Himalayas.
Additionally, one of its limited-edition motorcycle collaborations, restricted to 100 units globally, received more than 9,000 registrations worldwide. The 25 motorcycles allocated for India were reportedly sold out in just three minutes, highlighting the brand’s strong appeal among enthusiasts.
Positive Outlook Ahead
With rising domestic demand, growing interest in electric mobility, and significant investments in manufacturing capacity, Royal Enfield appears well-positioned for continued growth. While exports remain an area to watch, the company’s strong performance in India continues to reinforce its leadership in the premium motorcycle segment.
