Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ Returning to Theatres One Last Time: Here’s When and Where Fans Can Catch the Final Show
After its theatrical run and ZEE5 digital premiere, Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan is set for a special screening in Tiruppur, with director H Vinoth joining fans for what is being billed as one last celebration.
Fans of Vijay will soon have another opportunity to experience Jana Nayagan on the big screen but this time, it is being presented as the film’s final theatrical celebration.
Director H Vinoth’s Jana Nayagan, which marked Vijay’s final film before his full-time move into politics, arrived in theatres in July 2026. After completing its theatrical run and subsequently making its digital debut on ZEE5, the film is now returning for a special screening in Tamil Nadu.
And there is another reason the event could be special for fans: H Vinoth himself will be there.
When and Where Will Jana Nayagan Be Screened?
Sri Sakthi Cinemas announced on Friday that a special screening of Jana Nayagan will take place at its Tiruppur location at 6 pm on Sunday, September 20.
The theatre described the event as “The last day. The last show,” while inviting Vijay fans to come together for one final big-screen celebration of the movie.
Director H Vinoth is also scheduled to be present at the venue for the special screening.
Announcing the event, the theatre called it “one final celebration of Jana Nayagan” and urged fans to celebrate the “final dance of Thalapathy Vijay.”
For audiences who missed the film during its original theatrical run or simply want to experience Vijay’s farewell movie with a packed crowd once more the screening offers another chance to see it in a cinema hall.
Jana Nayagan Crossed Rs 300 Crore Worldwide
Released in July, Jana Nayagan reportedly crossed the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office, making it a commercial success for producer Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Productions.
Its box-office performance came despite the film receiving a mixed critical response, with reviews ranging from praise for Vijay’s screen presence to criticism of other aspects of the film.
Following its cinema run, Jana Nayagan arrived on ZEE5, making the movie available to audiences at home.

The September 20 screening, however, brings Vijay’s fans back to the theatrical setting for what organisers are positioning as one final celebration.
What Is Jana Nayagan About?
Jana Nayagan revolves around Vetri Kondan, a fearless leader who confronts a corruption-ridden system while attempting to protect ordinary citizens.
The film also contains political references that drew attention because of Vijay’s transition from cinema to active politics.
At one point, Vijay’s character is referred to as “Thalapathy Vetri Kondan,” while promotional material surrounding the movie also generated discussion over parallels between the film and the actor’s political journey.
Vijay founded Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and has stepped away from acting to concentrate on politics full-time, giving Jana Nayagan added significance among his supporters and longtime movie fans.

A Star-Studded Cast Alongside Vijay
Apart from Vijay, Jana Nayagan features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Priyamani.
Directed by H Vinoth and produced under the KVN Productions banner, the movie became one of the most closely watched Tamil releases of 2026, particularly because of its status as Vijay’s announced final feature film.
Could Fans Still See Vijay on the Big Screen Again?
Although Vijay has left acting to pursue a full-time political career, speculation continues over whether audiences could still see him make another theatrical appearance albeit outside a conventional feature-film role.
There have been reports and speculation suggesting Vijay could feature in Ajith Kumar’s upcoming documentary, Gladiators. However, details surrounding any Vijay appearance remain unconfirmed.
For now, the attention is firmly on September 20 in Tiruppur, where fans will gather for what Sri Sakthi Cinemas is calling the “last show” of Jana Nayagan potentially turning an ordinary screening into an emotional farewell celebration for Vijay’s film career.
