Mahindra Crosses a Major Milestone… Domestic SUV Sales Top 60,000 as July Deliveries Jump 26%
Strong demand for SUVs, commercial vehicles, and exports helped Mahindra & Mahindra post impressive year-on-year growth, with total vehicle sales crossing one lakh units in July 2026.
Mahindra & Mahindra has kicked off the second half of the financial year on a strong note, reporting a 26% year-on-year increase in total vehicle sales for July 2026. The homegrown automobile giant sold 1,03,860 vehicles, including exports, during the month, driven by robust demand across its SUV, commercial vehicle, and three-wheeler portfolios.
One of the biggest highlights of the company’s monthly performance was its domestic SUV business, which crossed the 60,000-unit milestone for the first time in the current financial year.
SUV Business Continues to Power Growth
Mahindra’s utility vehicle lineup remained the biggest contributor to its overall sales momentum.
The automaker dispatched 60,048 SUVs in the domestic market during July, marking a 20% increase compared to the same month last year. Including export shipments, total SUV sales reached 60,887 units, underlining the continued popularity of Mahindra’s SUV range among buyers in India and overseas.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment weighing below 2 tonnes recorded sales of 3,870 units, registering an impressive 40% growth over the previous year.
Meanwhile, Mahindra’s 2–3.5 tonne LCV category contributed 21,334 units, representing a 21% increase.
The company’s three-wheeler business, including electric three-wheelers, emerged as another strong performer, with sales rising 53% to 14,538 units during the month.

Exports Continue to Accelerate
Mahindra’s international business also maintained positive momentum.
The automaker exported 4,070 vehicles in July, representing a 47% year-on-year increase. The growth reflects improving demand in overseas markets and the company’s expanding global presence.
Strong export numbers have become an increasingly important part of Mahindra’s overall growth strategy in recent years.
Leadership Confident About Demand
Commenting on the company’s performance, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, said the company achieved domestic SUV sales of 60,048 units, representing 20% annual growth, while overall vehicle sales rose to 1,03,860 units, up 26% compared to July last year.
He attributed the strong performance to sustained customer demand across Mahindra’s product portfolio.
Strong Start to the Financial Year
Mahindra’s year-to-date performance also reflects healthy growth.
Between April and July 2026, the company sold 2,34,793 passenger vehicles in the domestic market, recording a 16% increase over the corresponding period last year.
Exports during the same four-month period surged to 19,958 units, representing a robust 60% growth, highlighting the increasing acceptance of Mahindra vehicles in international markets.
Momentum Remains Strong
With SUV demand remaining resilient, commercial vehicles contributing steadily, and exports gathering pace, Mahindra appears well-positioned to sustain its growth trajectory in the coming months.
Crossing the 60,000-unit domestic SUV sales mark is a significant achievement for the company and underscores the growing popularity of its utility vehicle lineup in one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets.
