Centre Explores Legal Action After Diljit Dosanjh’s Satluj Is Removed From Zee5… CBFC Clearance Under Scanner

The Central Government is reportedly exploring legal options following the removal of Diljit Dosanjh’s film Satluj from Zee5. According to reports, the government is seeking legal opinion to determine whether action can be initiated over the film’s release on the streaming platform.

The development comes amid allegations that the film was released without complying with directions issued by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Government questions OTT release

A senior Union minister has reportedly claimed that the makers of Satluj were instructed by the CBFC to implement 127 cuts before the film could be approved for release.

According to the minister, the filmmakers allegedly did not comply with these directions but proceeded to release the film on Zee5.

The minister further alleged that the movie was streamed without obtaining the necessary CBFC certification, describing the release as being in violation of the prescribed legal process.

Legal opinion being sought
