Was ‘Lenin’ a hit or flop?
Based on its theatrical performance, Lenin has been declared a Hit at the box office.

The movie also performed strongly in several Telugu-speaking markets, eventually securing a place among the year’s better-performing Telugu releases.

Producers recover investment comfortably
Reports suggest that Lenin was produced on an estimated budget of ₹50 crore.
In addition to its theatrical earnings, the makers reportedly earned nearly ₹30 crore through OTT, satellite and audio rights, ensuring that the overall project remained financially secure.
The film’s producers had earlier announced that Lenin crossed the ₹100 crore mark worldwide. However, trade estimates place the actual theatrical gross closer to ₹73.50 crore.
Industry reports have also suggested that the higher collection figures announced by the makers may have strengthened negotiations for the film’s digital rights. These claims, however, have not been independently verified.
A much-needed breakthrough for Akhil Akkineni

Directed by Murali Kishore Abburu, Lenin features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, alongside Shivaji, Pramod, Eeswari Rao, Ramki, and Getup Srinu in supporting roles.
The film marks a significant milestone in Akhil Akkineni’s career. After several underwhelming box office outings, Lenin has become his first major commercial success as a lead actor.
The actor has also received appreciation from audiences for his screen presence and performance, making the film an important turning point in his career.
With its OTT release around the corner, Lenin now looks set to reach an even wider audience beyond theatres.
