Sunny Deol's action film Parshuram has reportedly been delayed as director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat prepares for his Hollywood debut with Deadlocked.

The highly anticipated action film Parshuram, starring Sunny Deol and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, has reportedly been put on hold indefinitely.

Originally announced under the title Lakhan, the film was expected to begin production in October 2026. However, fresh reports suggest that the project has been delayed after Bhat committed to directing his first Hollywood film, Deadlocked, for Amazon MGM Studios.

According to reports, the makers are now reassessing the project’s timeline, with production unlikely to begin before 2027.

Hollywood Opportunity Takes Priority

The reported delay comes after the international success of Kill, the action thriller that earned Nikhil Nagesh Bhat widespread recognition for its intense action choreography and filmmaking style.

Following the film’s global appreciation, Bhat has landed his Hollywood directorial debut with Deadlocked, an action thriller starring Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx.

The filmmaker is currently said to be preparing for the project and is expected to remain occupied until production is completed.

Industry reports suggest that discussions for Bhat’s Hollywood project had been underway for nearly two years before the deal was finalised.

What Happens to ‘Parshuram’ Now?

With the director focusing on his Hollywood assignment, the producers of Parshuram are reportedly considering two possible options.

The first is to wait until Nikhil Nagesh Bhat becomes available after completing Deadlocked.

The second option would involve appointing another director to helm the ambitious action entertainer.

As of now, no official decision has been announced by the production team.

The film is backed by Madhu Mantena and Mythri Movie Makers, both of whom were planning it as a large-scale action spectacle featuring Sunny Deol in the lead role.

Could ‘Jaat 2’ Move Ahead Instead?

Reports also suggest that Mythri Movie Makers is evaluating whether Jaat 2 could move into production before Parshuram.

While discussions are reportedly taking place internally, no final announcement has been made regarding the sequel’s production schedule.

If approved, Jaat 2 could become the studio’s next collaboration with Sunny Deol while Parshuram remains on hold.
