Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues dream run despite biggest weekday drop

Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to dominate the global box office, proving that a midweek slowdown is doing little to dent its extraordinary theatrical run. The Marvel superhero spectacle has already become the highest-grossing film of 2026 worldwide and remains one of the biggest Hollywood successes ever seen in India.

Although the film witnessed its sharpest weekday decline on Day 7, its overall momentum remains exceptionally strong, with the second weekend now expected to push collections to even greater heights.

Day 7 collection dips, but India total remains massive

According to early estimates, Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned ₹15.20 crore net on its seventh day across nearly 16,725 shows in India. The film registered a 29.3% drop compared to Tuesday’s ₹21.50 crore collection, marking its biggest weekday decline since release.

Despite the slowdown, the superhero blockbuster has amassed an impressive ₹380.78 crore gross in India within its first week.

Trade analysts believe the upcoming weekend should comfortably propel the film beyond the ₹400 crore milestone, making it one of India’s highest-grossing Hollywood releases.

While its Indian performance has been remarkable, the film’s global numbers are even more astonishing.

After only seven days in theatres, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reportedly grossed around $1.155 billion worldwide, overtaking Toy Story 5 to become the highest-grossing film of 2026.

The worldwide total includes:

  • North America: $449 million

The achievement has placed the Marvel blockbuster ahead of every other release this year, reinforcing the enduring popularity of the Spider-Man franchise.

Record-breaking run in North America

The film has rewritten the record books in the United States and Canada.

Earlier this week, Spider-Man: Brand New Day delivered the highest Tuesday box office collection in North American history, collecting $42 million in a single day and surpassing the benchmark previously held by Spider-Man: No Way Home.

It had already achieved the highest Monday collection ever with $47 million and became the fastest film to cross $400 million in North America, reaching the milestone in only four days.

These milestones underline the unprecedented demand for Tom Holland’s latest outing as the iconic web-slinger.

With positive audience response, strong word-of-mouth and limited competition, industry observers believe Spider-Man: Brand New Day has every chance of crossing ₹500 crore during its theatrical run in India.

If it maintains its momentum through the coming weekends, the Marvel blockbuster could secure a place among the biggest Hollywood box office performers the Indian market has ever witnessed.

For now, Tom Holland‘s superhero adventure continues to spin an incredible success story across cinemas worldwide.
