‘It’s a Win for Everyone…’ Huma Qureshi Reacts to Baby Do Die Do Clashing With Alia Bhatt’s Alpha

Huma Qureshi has shared her thoughts on the box office clash between her film Baby Do Die Do and Alia Bhatt’s action thriller Alpha, calling it a positive milestone rather than a competition.

Speaking about the simultaneous release of two female-led films, the actress said she views it as a sign of progress for the Indian film industry, where women-centric projects are now receiving greater recognition and theatrical space.

‘A healthy state of affairs’

Huma said she does not see the release clash as a negative development.

According to the actress, there was a time when getting even one female-led film approved was a major challenge. Today, having two women-centric movies releasing on the same day reflects how the industry has evolved.

She described the situation as a “good problem to have,” adding that it highlights growing confidence among filmmakers in stories led by female protagonists.

‘Our film is made on a small budget’

While acknowledging the scale of Alpha, Huma pointed out that Baby Do Die Do has been produced on a comparatively modest budget.

She expressed hope that audiences would discover and support the film through positive word of mouth, saying the team is relying on viewers to help it reach a wider audience.

The actress also noted that theatrical release dates are limited, making occasional box office clashes unavoidable.

Following Baby Do Die Do, Huma Qureshi will be seen in Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas.

The film boasts a star-studded female ensemble featuring Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.

Speaking about the experience, Huma praised director Geetu Mohandas and described the atmosphere on set as supportive and collaborative, adding that everyone encouraged one another throughout the shoot.

Toxic is scheduled to arrive in theatres later this year.
