Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga has completed its theatrical journey after an eight-week run, finishing with a worldwide gross of ₹98.85 crore.

The romantic period drama, led by Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina and Sharvari, had a somewhat unusual box-office trajectory. After a relatively slow opening, the film managed to find stronger momentum during its second week and continued collecting steadily before eventually completing its theatrical run.

In India, Main Vaapas Aaunga collected a reported ₹65.15 crore net, making it the eighth-highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2026 in the domestic market.

The film moved ahead of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which reportedly finished with ₹61.78 crore.

Including taxes, the film’s domestic gross stands at approximately ₹76.87 crore.

While those numbers place the film among the year’s stronger Hindi releases, they were not enough to deliver a clean theatrical recovery for a movie carrying a reported budget of ₹70 crore.

According to the available figures, the makers recovered around 93% of their investment, leaving an estimated shortfall of ₹4.85 crore.

Overseas business becomes an important bright spot

The film’s international performance provided some much-needed support.

Main Vaapas Aaunga reportedly collected ₹21.98 crore overseas, making it the ninth-highest-grossing Bollywood release of 2026 in international markets.

That overseas contribution helped push the film close to the coveted ₹100 crore worldwide mark.

Its final worldwide gross of ₹98.85 crore means the film missed the three-digit milestone by a relatively narrow margin.
