Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth Join ‘Lust Stories 3’; Four Directors, Four New Stories Here’s What We Know So Far

The ‘Lust Stories’ franchise is preparing to return with its third instalment, and the new anthology has assembled an impressive mix of actors and filmmakers. Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth have joined the ensemble cast of ‘Lust Stories 3’, further raising curiosity around the upcoming project.

Like its predecessors, the third edition will feature four separate stories, each approaching themes of desire, intimacy, relationships and emotional vulnerability from a different perspective.

Produced by RSVP and Flying Unicorn Entertainment, the anthology will bring together four filmmakers known for very different cinematic voices Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj.

Each director will helm one segment of the anthology.

Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth join star-studded cast

The third instalment has put together a diverse ensemble featuring some of the most recognisable performers from Indian films and streaming projects.

Alongside Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth, the cast includes Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada.

The casting is particularly interesting because several of these actors have previously worked in films centred on unconventional relationships and complex characters.

However, the makers have so far avoided revealing which actors will appear together in each segment or what characters they will play.

That remains the biggest mystery surrounding ‘Lust Stories 3’.

While the cast and directors have been revealed, individual plot details are still being kept under wraps.

Four acclaimed filmmakers come together

One of the biggest attractions of the third instalment is its directorial lineup.

Vikramaditya Motwane is known for character-driven films and series, while Kiran Rao has built a reputation for intimate and socially observant storytelling.

Shakun Batra has frequently explored complicated relationships, families and emotional conflicts, while Vishal Bhardwaj is known for darker, layered narratives and memorable characters.

How ‘Lust Stories’ began

The original ‘Lust Stories’ arrived on Netflix in 2018 and quickly became one of the platform’s prominent Indian anthology projects.

Its four segments were directed by Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee.

The anthology examined subjects including marriage, sexual desire, intimacy and evolving attitudes towards relationships.

Its cast included Kiara Advani, Vicky Kaushal, Radhika Apte, Neha Dhupia and Manisha Koirala, among several others.

‘Lust Stories 2’ followed five years later

The franchise returned in 2023 with ‘Lust Stories 2’, once again featuring four filmmakers and separate narratives.

The second anthology featured segments directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona Sen Sharma, R Balki and Sujoy Ghosh.

Its ensemble included Kajol, Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma and Angad Bedi.

Interestingly, both Konkona Sen Sharma and Vijay Varma are associated with the franchise again in its third chapter Konkona as part of the cast this time and Vijay returning as an actor.

Why ‘Lust Stories 3’ has already sparked curiosity

The strength of the franchise has traditionally come from allowing different filmmakers to examine the same broad subject through completely different characters and situations.

The third instalment appears set to follow that formula while introducing another heavyweight creative lineup.

The presence of Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth, alongside performers such as Radhika Apte, Vijay Varma, Ali Fazal and Konkona Sen Sharma, only adds to expectations.
