Nothing Headphone (1) Pro arrives with triple drivers, 46dB ANC and 68-hour battery but what about India?

Nothing has expanded its premium audio portfolio with the launch of the Headphone (1) Pro, a new flagship over-ear headphone that builds on the company’s original Headphone (1).

Unveiled on September 29, the new model focuses on three major areas: better sound quality, stronger noise cancellation and longer battery life. Nothing has also packed in newer connectivity features, including Bluetooth 6.1, alongside support for high-resolution and lossless audio.

The headline upgrade, however, is inside the earcups. Instead of relying on a conventional single-driver arrangement, the Headphone (1) Pro uses a dedicated triple-driver system designed to handle different parts of the sound spectrum.

Headphone (1) Pro price and India availability

The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is priced at $399 in the United States, which works out to roughly Rs. 38,300 based on the conversion cited at launch. It will be available in Black and White colour options.

In other markets, the headphones are priced at £349 in the UK and €349 in Europe.

That also makes the Pro model considerably more expensive than the original Headphone (1), carrying a $100 premium over its predecessor’s launch price.

For Indian buyers, however, there is still an important piece missing. Nothing has listed the Headphone (1) Pro on its India website, but the company has yet to announce an official India price or release date.

Alongside the product announcement, Nothing also named internationally acclaimed singer V as its new Global Brand Ambassador.

Triple-driver setup promises a more detailed sound

At the heart of the Headphone (1) Pro is its new three-driver configuration.

Nothing says the system combines a 40mm bass driver, a 13 x 8mm precision dynamic driver, and a 3.2 x 6.0 x 1.15mm xMEMS tweeter. Together, they cover a claimed frequency response of 20Hz to 40kHz.

The headphones support Hi-Res Audio, LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs.

Listeners who prefer a wired connection can use USB-C for lossless audio at up to 24-bit/192kHz. A traditional 3.5mm headphone jack is also available, supporting lossless playback at up to 24-bit/96kHz.

Nothing teams up with Metropolis Studios

Nothing says it collaborated with London-based Metropolis Studios to tune the Headphone (1) Pro.

Users get a Flat EQ alongside a Studio B-inspired spatial audio profile. The headphones also support Dynamic Spatial Audio with head tracking, designed to make sound feel more anchored to the listener’s surroundings as they move their head.

Spatial audio works across several listening modes, including Standard, Studio B, Club, Concert Hall and Live House.

Up to 46dB adaptive ANC with 10 microphones

Noise cancellation is another major area where Nothing is promising an upgrade.

The Headphone (1) Pro offers real-time adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) of up to 46dB and uses a total of 10 microphones.

According to Nothing, the new system delivers 5dB better noise suppression and a 40% wider cancellation bandwidth compared with the standard Headphone (1).

For calls, a separate four-microphone system works with noise-reduction algorithms to suppress wind and background noise. A Transparency Mode is also available when users need to hear their surroundings without removing the headphones.

Battery life stretches to 68 hours

The Headphone (1) Pro packs a sizeable 1,060mAh battery.

With AAC playback, Nothing claims up to 68 hours of listening with ANC switched off and up to 30 hours with ANC enabled.

Using the higher-quality LDAC codec reduces those figures slightly, with the company claiming up to 53 hours without ANC and 28 hours with ANC.

Fast charging should also come in handy. Nothing claims that a five-minute charge can deliver up to four hours of playback when ANC is disabled.

Bluetooth 6.1 and dual-device connectivity

The Headphone (1) Pro weighs 327 grams and carries an IP52 rating for protection against dust and splashes.

Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth 6.1, while convenience features include Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and dual-device connectivity, allowing users to stay connected to two compatible devices.

With its triple-driver architecture, lossless audio support, adaptive ANC and significantly longer battery life, the Headphone (1) Pro represents a sizeable technical step up for Nothing’s over-ear headphone lineup.

The bigger question for Indian consumers is now straightforward: when will Nothing bring it to India, and how aggressively will it be priced?
