iPhone 17 Pro gets massive festive discounts after iPhone 18 launch: Prices drop by thousands… but there’s a catch
The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are seeing fresh discounts across major Indian retailers after the arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, with exchange bonuses and bank offers pushing effective prices much lower.
The launch of a new iPhone generation usually means one thing for the previous model: discounts. That trend is now becoming particularly visible with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, as Indian retailers roll out new offers following the arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro series.
The timing is significant. With Apple moving its latest Pro models into the market, retailers are looking to attract customers towards the previous-generation flagships with a mix of direct price reductions, bank benefits, exchange bonuses and additional promotional offers.
But there is an important detail buyers should keep in mind: the headline discount does not necessarily mean the iPhone 17 Pro is available at that amount for every customer.
Croma cuts iPhone 17 Pro prices
Croma is currently advertising reduced prices on the iPhone 17 Pro range. According to its latest offer details, the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro is listed at ₹1,30,490, compared with its earlier ₹1,34,900 price, while the 512GB and 1TB versions are listed at ₹1,49,990 and ₹1,69,490 respectively.
Croma is also running additional promotional benefits that can further reduce the effective cost for eligible customers.
The retailer’s offer terms include benefits for select Tata Neu HDFC Bank and Tata Neu SBI Bank cardholders, with savings delivered partly through NeuCoins. Depending on the card and eligibility, the total NeuCoin benefit can reach 10% on selected Apple products during the offer period.
The ₹69,990 price needs a closer look
One of the biggest headlines around the iPhone 17 Pro recently has been an effective price of ₹69,990 at Croma.
At first glance, that number looks like an enormous price cut from the original ₹1,34,900 launch price. However, this is not a simple flat retail price reduction.
The ₹69,990 figure is achieved by combining the value of an eligible old iPhone trade-in with an exchange bonus and applicable bank benefits. Moneycontrol reported that the offer could bring the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro to an effective ₹69,990, while the 512GB version could reach an effective ₹88,490 under the relevant combination of benefits.
In other words, buyers without a high-value device to exchange may not be able to purchase the phone for ₹69,990.
Flipkart is also showing lower effective prices
Flipkart is offering the iPhone 17 Pro with additional promotional benefits. Its current listing shows the 256GB model at ₹1,34,900, with a displayed effective purchase price of ₹1,30,900 after the applicable offer. Eligible customers can also see bank cashback and exchange options depending on their location and device.
The platform’s exchange facility can potentially reduce the final amount further, but the actual value depends on the phone being exchanged, its condition and the buyer’s pincode.
For the 512GB model, current Flipkart listings also show an effective price below the standard ₹1,54,900 figure when applicable offers are applied.

Reliance Digital and Imagine Store have stock too
Reliance Digital continues to list multiple iPhone 17 Pro configurations, including 256GB, 512GB and 1TB models. Its listed prices remain tied to the original retail pricing, although availability can vary by colour and store.
Meanwhile, Imagine Store, an Apple Authorized Premium Partner in India, continues to list the iPhone 17 Pro from ₹1,34,900. The retailer also offers options such as exchange value and no-cost EMI, depending on the purchase.
This means customers should compare the final payable amount, rather than looking only at the headline price displayed by a retailer.
Why are discounts appearing now?
The reason is fairly straightforward: Apple’s newer iPhone generation has arrived.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have now entered the Indian market, while Apple has stopped selling the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max directly through its own channels. That leaves retailers with existing inventory of the previous generation and creates an opportunity to attract buyers with promotional pricing.
For shoppers who do not necessarily need the newest model, the previous-generation Pro devices can therefore become more interesting—particularly when exchange and bank offers are combined.
Festive sales could make the equation more interesting
The timing also puts the iPhone 17 Pro discounts close to India’s major festive shopping period.
Major e-commerce platforms typically increase smartphone promotions around the festive season, with bank discounts, exchange bonuses and limited-period coupons becoming part of the final deal. Similar festive iPhone promotions have previously been seen across platforms including Flipkart, Amazon, Croma and other major retailers.
For the iPhone 17 Pro, however, buyers should carefully check whether a particular offer is a direct discount, an exchange-linked reduction, a bank benefit, or a combination of several offers.
iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro: the decision is not just about price
The arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro changes the equation for buyers considering the older model.
The iPhone 18 Pro brings Apple’s newer-generation hardware and features, while the iPhone 17 Pro remains a flagship device with its own high-end camera system, ProMotion display and A19 Pro platform.
That means the current discounts may appeal particularly to buyers who are comfortable with the previous generation and want to reduce their upfront spending rather than pay the premium associated with the newest Pro model.
What should buyers check before purchasing?
Before jumping at a headline discount, customers should check four things:
- Final payable price: Don’t rely only on the advertised effective price.
- Exchange value: The biggest reductions may require an eligible old smartphone.
- Bank eligibility: Cashback and EMI offers can be restricted to selected cards.
- Stock and variant: Colour, storage and availability can differ between retailers.
The ₹69,990 Croma figure, for example, is an effective promotional price, not a universal ₹69,990 shelf price for every buyer.
The iPhone 17 Pro is cheaper, but the fine print matters
The arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro has clearly changed the pricing landscape for the iPhone 17 Pro in India. From Croma’s direct reductions to exchange-linked offers on multiple platforms, buyers now have more ways to bring down the cost of Apple’s previous-generation Pro flagship.
For some customers, the combination of an eligible old iPhone, exchange bonus and bank offer can make the effective price dramatically lower. For others, the savings may be much more modest.
So, before placing the order, one simple rule matters most: compare the final price after every applicable offer—not just the biggest discount advertised.
