Motorola Signature 27 Set for September 22 Reveal: 200MP Camera Teased, But Its ‘Latest Snapdragon’ Chip Remains a Mystery…

Motorola is preparing to expand its premium Signature lineup, and its next smartphone is beginning to take shape. The company has teased the Motorola Signature 27, revealing its announcement date along with some of the handset’s most eye-catching camera and design details.

The Signature 27 is scheduled to be unveiled on September 22, 2026, during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit. However, it is still unclear whether Motorola will conduct a full-fledged launch on the day or simply reveal additional details about the device and its underlying platform.

200MP camera could be the Signature 27’s big upgrade

One of the biggest details revealed by Motorola’s teaser is a 200-megapixel rear camera.

The teaser also confirms Dolby Vision video capture, suggesting that photography and video recording will be major selling points for the new Signature handset.

If positioned as the successor to the original Motorola Signature, the jump to a 200MP camera would represent a notable change. The existing Signature launched with a camera system built around 50-megapixel sensors and can record 8K Dolby Vision video at 30fps.

Motorola, however, has not yet revealed the complete camera configuration of the Signature 27.

Two Pantone colours confirmed

Motorola is continuing its close association with Pantone for the upcoming smartphone.

The company has shown the Signature 27 in two Pantone-validated finishes Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive. The teaser also places emphasis on materials and textures, indicating that premium design will remain central to the Signature identity.

The original Motorola Signature was offered in Pantone Martini Olive and Pantone Carbon, with different textured finishes designed to distinguish the two variants.

‘Latest Snapdragon’ processor teased, but which one?

Perhaps the biggest mystery is hiding inside the phone.

Motorola has indicated that the Signature 27 will be associated with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon platform, with its September 22 unveiling taking place during the Snapdragon Summit.

The company has not yet officially identified the exact chipset in the teaser, making the processor announcement one of the key details to watch on September 22.

Given the timing, the Signature 27 could serve as a showcase for Motorola’s next generation of flagship performance, but the precise chip and its specifications should remain unconfirmed until the companies disclose them.

How does it compare with the current Motorola Signature?

The existing Motorola Signature, introduced in India earlier this year, gives some indication of where Motorola could position its next model.

It features a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, up to 16GB RAM and as much as 1TB storage. Motorola’s official specifications list a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The current Signature launched in India with a starting price of Rs 59,999 for its 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration.

Whether the Signature 27 will directly replace that handset or sit alongside it as another Signature-branded model has not yet been officially clarified.

September 22 could answer the biggest questions

Motorola has already revealed enough to make the Signature 27 an interesting upcoming flagship: a 200MP camera, Dolby Vision recording, two distinctive Pantone colours and a new Snapdragon platform.

What remains unknown is arguably even more important its complete camera setup, display, battery, charging specifications, price and availability in India.

With the September 22 announcement now just around the corner, those details could soon become clearer.
