Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha Gets New Release Date: “Toofaan Ke Liye Taiyaar Rehna…”

The wait for Shraddha Kapoor’s next major theatrical release just got a new date.

The makers of Eetha have officially announced that the highly anticipated biopic will now arrive in cinemas on December 4, 2026. The film was earlier expected to release in August, but the schedule has now been pushed to December.

The announcement came on Tuesday, accompanied by a dramatic message from the makers: “Toofaan ke liye taiyaar rehna… kyunki Eetha aa rahi hai, 4th December ko!”

Directed by Laxman Utekar, who previously helmed Chhaava, Eetha is based on the extraordinary life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, one of Maharashtra’s most celebrated performers of Tamasha and Lavani folk theatre.

The film is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and features Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles alongside Shraddha.

The official teaser, released in June, offered the first glimpse into the film’s emotional and intensely dramatic world.

Who was Vithabai Narayangaonkar?

Born as Vithabai Narayangaonkar in July 1935 in Pandharpur, Solapur district, Vithabai came from a family deeply connected with Maharashtra’s traditional performing arts.

She began performing at a very young age and eventually established herself as a major name in the Tamasha and Lavani traditions.

Vithabai became known for her commanding stage presence, expressive voice and energetic performances. Her contribution to Indian folk culture earned her President’s Awards in 1957 and 1990, highlighting the significance of her work.
