Mahindra Vision S Spotted Again… Baby Scorpio Could Debut This August With ADAS, Panoramic Sunroof and EV Surprise
Fresh spy shots have revealed the cabin of the upcoming Mahindra Vision S for the first time, hinting at a premium feature list and the possibility of an electric version joining the lineup.
Mahindra & Mahindra appears to be gearing up for the next chapter of its SUV expansion with the much-awaited Mahindra Vision S, popularly known as the “Baby Scorpio.” After making its concept debut during the company’s Freedom NU event in 2025, the SUV has once again been spotted testing on Indian roads—this time revealing its interior for the very first time.
The latest spy images provide a clearer idea of what buyers can expect, from a rugged design inspired by the Mahindra Scorpio N and Mahindra Thar Roxx to a cabin packed with modern technology and comfort features.
Boxy Design Keeps the Classic SUV Character Alive
The upcoming Vision S stays true to Mahindra’s signature SUV styling with a muscular, upright stance.
The prototype showcases a flat bonnet, boxy silhouette, and an aggressive front fascia that gives it a commanding road presence. Round LED headlamps are expected to be paired with circular LED daytime running lights, similar to those seen on the Thar Roxx.
Other visible highlights include:
- Vertically slatted front grille
- Flush-fitting door handles
- Large alloy wheels
- Pronounced wheel arches
- Flat roofline
- Rear-mounted spare wheel
- Vertically positioned LED tail lamps
One of the biggest highlights is the visible radar module integrated into the front bumper, indicating that Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) could be offered on higher variants.

Interior Spy Shots Reveal Premium Cabin
For the first time, the cabin of the Vision S has also been captured during testing.
Interestingly, the test vehicle featured a steering wheel similar to the Mahindra BE 6, leading to speculation that Mahindra may have been testing an electric version of the SUV.
The dashboard follows a practical yet premium layout, borrowing design inspiration from the Thar Roxx and Scorpio N.
Expected cabin highlights include:
- Large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Vertical AC vents
- High-set dashboard
- Three-spoke steering wheel
- Dual-tone interior theme
- Premium upholstery
If launched with these features, the Vision S could become one of the most feature-rich compact SUVs in Mahindra’s portfolio.

Expected Features
Mahindra is expected to position the Vision S as a premium compact SUV with a long list of comfort and convenience features.
Expected equipment includes:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ventilated and heated front seats
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- Multiple drive modes
- Traction control
- Hill Descent Control
- Connected car technology
- Wireless smartphone connectivity
- Level-2 ADAS safety suite
These additions would help the SUV compete with several premium compact SUVs in the Indian market.
Expected Engine Options
Although Mahindra has not officially disclosed the powertrain details, reports suggest the Vision S could be offered with multiple engine choices.
The expected lineup includes:
- 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine
- 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine
Transmission choices are likely to include:
- 6-speed manual gearbox
- 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT)
- Automated Manual Transmission (AMT)
Considering the BE 6-derived steering wheel seen on the test mule, an all-electric Vision S could also be under development, although Mahindra has not confirmed this.
Launch Timeline
The Mahindra Vision S is expected to make its official debut later this month, with August widely tipped as the likely launch window.
If Mahindra retains most of the premium features seen during testing, the Vision S could emerge as an attractive option for buyers seeking a compact SUV with rugged styling, modern technology, and multiple powertrain choices.
With growing anticipation around the “Baby Scorpio,” the upcoming launch could become one of Mahindra’s biggest automotive announcements of the year.
