“Baahubali Will Return…”: Rana Daggubati Drops Massive Hint, Fans Go Wild Over Possible Baahubali 3
A surprise moment in Netflix’s Baahubali: The Torch Bearer documentary sparks global buzz as the franchise teases a possible third installment
The world of Mahishmati may not be done yet.
A quiet but explosive moment in Netflix’s latest documentary series Baahubali: The Torch Bearer has reignited one of Indian cinema’s biggest fan debates — is Baahubali 3 finally happening?
Released on 26 June, the four-part documentary takes viewers behind the scenes of the making of the iconic saga created by S. S. Rajamouli. But it is the final seconds of Episode 4 that have now gone viral across social media platforms.
In the closing moment, actors Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, and Rana Daggubati are seen sitting together in a candid conversation. What begins as a casual wrap-up quickly turns into a headline-making moment when Daggubati casually drops a line that sent fans into a frenzy.

“I don’t know if I should say this publicly… but there will be more Baahubali,” he says, hinting at a continuation of the legendary franchise.
The moment grows even more electric when Prabhas jokingly gestures with three fingers toward the camera — a subtle tease many fans interpreted as a reference to Baahubali 3. However, the playful gesture is quickly interrupted by Daggubati and Shetty, leaving the statement hanging in the air.
Notably, neither director S. S. Rajamouli nor producer Shobu Yarlagadda has made any official confirmation regarding a third film, keeping the franchise’s future firmly in the realm of speculation.
Still, the internet needed no confirmation to react.

On X (formerly Twitter), fans flooded timelines with excitement. One user wrote, “Goosebumps stuff… Baahubali himself just announced it.” Another commented that creating such a massive cinematic universe again would be “nothing short of legendary.”
The buzz comes at a time when the Baahubali universe is already expanding in different directions. An animated feature titled Baahubali: The Eternal War is reportedly in development, focusing on Amarendra Baahubali’s journey in the afterlife and the mythical war between Devas and Asuras. The project is said to feature voice performances from Prabhas and Ramya Krishnan, with screenplay contributions linked to Hollywood writer Scott Mosier.
Whether Baahubali 3 is truly in the works or just an emotional tease from the cast remains unclear. But one thing is certain — the Mahishmati kingdom has once again captured the imagination of millions.
And as fans wait for clarity, the silence from Rajamouli’s camp is only making the mystery louder.
