‘Mossad Plot to Kill Asim Munir?’ Explosive Switzerland Claim Sparks Pakistan’s Furious Response
A sensational claim alleging an Israeli assassination plot targeting Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir during Switzerland talks has triggered sharp reactions, with Islamabad calling it “baseless fiction.”
A dramatic allegation involving Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, and high-stakes diplomatic talks in Switzerland has stirred political and security circles across the world.
The controversy erupted after Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar claimed during a podcast that Mossad had allegedly planned to assassinate Asim Munir and members of a Pakistani delegation while they were in Switzerland for discussions linked to recent US-Iran peace negotiations.
The explosive claim quickly spread across social media, drawing intense attention due to the seriousness of the accusation and the sensitive geopolitical backdrop.
According to Escobar, Pakistan’s military had received what he described as “ultra-credible” intelligence about a possible Israeli operation targeting Munir and senior officials.
He alleged that the plan was connected to meetings held at the Burgenstock Resort in Switzerland, where Pakistani and Qatari representatives were reportedly involved in discussions aimed at easing tensions in West Asia.
Escobar further claimed that the alleged operation was being carried out under the direction of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In an even more dramatic twist, he suggested that Pakistan sent a stern warning to Israel through diplomatic channels, reportedly involving Oman, warning of severe consequences if any harm came to its delegation.
However, Islamabad has strongly denied the entire story.
Pakistani officials were quick to reject the allegations, calling them “complete nonsense.”
Kamran Khan, chairman of Pakistan’s ARY News, quoted a senior security official who dismissed the claims as “absolutely rubbish” and insisted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir’s Switzerland visit went smoothly without any disruptions.
The official clarified that security arrangements remained fully operational throughout the delegation’s stay in Lucerne, and there were no threats, alerts, or suspicious developments during the trip.

Importantly, the official also stated that neither Swiss security agencies nor US officials raised any concerns during the visit.
Calling the entire narrative “baseless fiction,” Pakistani authorities said there was no truth to the claims.

So far, Israeli authorities and Mossad have not issued any public response.
The timing of the controversy is significant.
It comes amid ongoing diplomatic engagements involving the United States, Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar, with regional talks focusing on sanctions relief, security arrangements, and broader stability in the Middle East.
Whether the allegation was merely speculation or part of a larger disinformation cycle remains unclear.
But one thing is certain — in a region already on edge, even unverified claims like these can send shockwaves through international diplomacy.
