Bought a Flat in Noida, Ghaziabad or Meerut? Yogi Adityanath Orders Probe After Shocking ‘One Flat, Multiple Buyers’ Allegation
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has ordered a thorough investigation after homebuyers alleged that a builder sold the same apartment to multiple people, while also directing officials to crack down on land encroachment and crime.
Lucknow: A serious allegation involving a real estate developer has prompted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to order an immediate investigation after complainants claimed that the same residential flat was allegedly registered in the names of multiple buyers.
The complaint surfaced during the Chief Minister’s Janata Darshan held at his official residence in Lucknow, where citizens from across the state gathered to present grievances related to property disputes, builders, illegal land occupation, crime and public administration.
According to the complainants, the builder, which is associated with housing projects in Noida, Ghaziabad and Meerut, allegedly sold or registered identical flats to more than one purchaser. The alleged practice has left several homebuyers facing legal uncertainty, financial losses and prolonged disputes over property ownership.
Taking the allegations seriously, Yogi Adityanath instructed the concerned departments to conduct a fair, transparent and time-bound inquiry into the matter. He made it clear that if the investigation establishes wrongdoing, the builder must face strict legal action, while affected buyers should receive justice without unnecessary delay.
The Chief Minister stressed that the state government would not tolerate any activity that undermines public trust in the real estate sector. He directed officials to examine the complaints impartially and ensure that every affected family receives proper legal assistance wherever required.

During the public hearing, Adityanath personally interacted with citizens from different districts and instructed officials to resolve complaints within a fixed timeframe. He said government departments must treat public grievances as a priority and avoid unnecessary delays in investigations or administrative action.

Apart from the builder-related allegations, several complainants also raised issues concerning illegal occupation of land, property disputes, and threats from influential individuals. Calling these complaints equally serious, the Chief Minister ordered immediate inquiries into such cases and warned that those found guilty of encroachment or intimidation would face strict punishment under the law.
Reiterating his government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, Adityanath said there was “no place for criminals in Uttar Pradesh.” He instructed officials to act firmly against anyone attempting to grab land illegally, threaten citizens or disrupt public peace.
The Chief Minister further directed authorities to speed up investigations related to crime, land disputes and property fraud, ensuring that innocent citizens are not forced to wait for justice. He also warned officials against negligence, stating that accountability would be enforced at every level of the administration.
The latest allegations have once again drawn attention to concerns surrounding transparency in the housing sector. For thousands of aspiring homeowners investing their life savings in residential properties, the outcome of the government’s investigation could prove crucial in restoring confidence and ensuring greater accountability in future real estate transactions.
