PM Narendra Modi to Visit Mysuru Today… City on High Alert as Security Tightened Ahead of Private Programme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Viveka Smaraka at Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, with elaborate security arrangements and civic preparations in place across Mysuru.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Mysuru on August 1 to attend a private programme, prompting extensive security arrangements and civic preparations across the city.
Authorities have intensified security measures along the Prime Minister’s travel route, while road repairs, sanitation drives, barricade installations and beautification works have been carried out to ensure smooth movement during the visit.
PM Modi’s Travel Itinerary
According to the planned schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive at Mandakalli Airport aboard a special aircraft.
From there, he will travel in an Indian Air Force helicopter to a temporary helipad set up at the Oval Ground, located in front of Crawford Hall at the University of Mysore.
After landing, the Prime Minister will proceed by road via Narayana Shastri Road to inaugurate the newly built Viveka Smaraka, developed by the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama.
He will then participate in a programme at the Ramakrishna Ashrama in Yadavagiri before returning to the Oval Ground by road and flying back to Mandakalli Airport by helicopter for his onward journey.
Security Tightened Across Mysuru

Authorities have also completed several infrastructure and civic improvement works, including:
- Road resurfacing and repair
- Painting of road dividers
- Sanitation and cleanliness drives
- Installation of barricades along the designated routes
The enhanced security arrangements are aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the Prime Minister’s visit and managing traffic movement in the city.
Special Gift for the Prime Minister
During the programme, the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama will present Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a specially crafted sculpture of Swami Vivekananda.
The artwork has been created by renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, whose works have received national recognition.

The sculpture has been carved from Vietnam marble, stands approximately 1.5 feet tall, and weighs around 8.5 kilograms. Inspired by the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari, the sculpture was reportedly completed in just 15 days.
According to the organisers, the statue was intentionally designed to weigh less than 10 kilograms, making it easier for the Prime Minister to hold during the presentation.
Final Preparations Complete
With all major arrangements nearing completion, Mysuru is ready to host the Prime Minister’s visit. Officials remain on alert as security agencies coordinate with local authorities to ensure the programme proceeds without disruption.
The visit is expected to draw significant attention, with traffic restrictions and security protocols likely to remain in place around key locations during the Prime Minister’s movement.
