The much-awaited Mirzapur universe is heading to the big screen, and insiders say Guddu Pandit’s rage could become the film’s most explosive element yet.
Mumbai: The blood-soaked world of Mirzapur is ready to return this time with a cinematic twist. After three blockbuster seasons of the cult crime thriller, the makers have officially confirmed Mirzapur: The Movie, and if early reports are anything to go by, fans are in for a far more brutal and emotionally charged ride.
At the center of it all is Ali Fazal’s iconic character Guddu Pandit, who is reportedly set to reveal the most intense and emotionally shattered version of himself yet.
According to insiders close to the production, the film designed as a prequel to the hit streaming saga will dive deeper into Guddu’s inner turmoil, pain, and the vengeance that shaped his rise in the violent world of Mirzapur.
A source familiar with the project revealed that Guddu’s journey in the film begins with the heavy emotional scars of personal loss, pushing him into a darker space where revenge becomes his only purpose.
For fans who have followed Guddu Pandit’s transformation over the years, this big-screen version promises something bigger, bolder, and far more unpredictable.
The source added that the character has been reimagined on a grand cinematic scale, with Ali Fazal expected to deliver a more volatile and aggressive performance than ever before.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, and Jitendra Kumar in key roles.

While Pankaj Tripathi returns as the feared Kaleen Bhaiya, Divyenndu will once again step into the shoes of the fan-favorite Munna Bhaiya. One of the biggest surprises, however, is Jitendra Kumar’s entry into the Mirzapur universe as Bablu, a character originally portrayed by Vikrant Massey.

The film also stars Ravi Kishan, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sheeba Chaddha, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Rajesh Tailang, making it one of the most powerful ensemble casts of the year.
Backed by Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, the movie is slated for a theatrical release on September 4, 2026.
Meanwhile, Ali Fazal is also riding high on the success of his latest web series Raakh, inspired by the infamous Ranga-Billa case.
Before stepping back into Mirzapur’s violent universe, the actor will be seen in Batwara 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, releasing on August 14, 2026.
With Guddu Pandit’s rage set to take center stage, one thing is clear: Mirzapur: The Movie isn’t just expanding the franchise it may be about to redefine it.
