Kia has launched the all-electric Syros in India with two battery options, Level 2 ADAS, premium features and an ownership package designed to tackle common EV concerns.
The electric SUV battle in India is getting more interesting, and Kia India has just added another serious contender to the mix.
The South Korean automaker has launched the all-electric Kia Syros EV in India, with prices starting at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new electric SUV is Kia India’s second locally manufactured EV after the Carens Clavis EV, and it brings a combination of long claimed range, premium cabin technology and an unusual ownership promise.
The Syros EV will be available with two battery pack options, with prices stretching up to ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end X-Line Extended Range variant.
But the biggest talking point may not be the price.
Kia is offering up to a claimed 526km range, along with a 15-year unlimited-kilometre warranty on the high-voltage battery for the first owner.
Deliveries of the new electric SUV are scheduled to begin from July 30.
Kia Syros EV Price in India: Full Variant-Wise Details
The new Kia Syros EV is being offered in multiple configurations based on battery capacity and trim levels.
The entry-level version gets a 42kWh battery pack and starts at ₹13.49 lakh.
The larger 51.4kWh Extended Range battery option starts at ₹16.99 lakh, while the top-spec X-Line Extended Range variant is priced at ₹19.99 lakh.

With the new model, Kia is clearly aiming at buyers who want an electric SUV that feels premium without moving too far into the luxury-car price bracket.
Familiar Design With EV-Specific Changes
At first glance, the Syros EV may look instantly recognisable.
That is because Kia has retained much of the basic design language of the standard Syros. However, the electric version gets several changes that distinguish it from its petrol-powered sibling.
The front features a closed-off Digital Tiger Face, reflecting the absence of a conventional internal combustion engine grille.

The overall approach is interesting because Kia has avoided creating an EV that looks completely disconnected from the standard Syros. Instead, the company has chosen a familiar design with subtle electric touches.
Inside the Syros EV: 30-Inch Trinity Display Takes Centre Stage
The cabin largely follows the design of the conventional Syros, but the equipment list is aimed squarely at premium SUV buyers.
The centrepiece is Kia’s 30-inch Trinity display, which combines the digital instrument cluster, infotainment screen and climate-control interface into a single integrated layout.
The SUV also gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, allowing passengers to connect their smartphones without the need for traditional cables.
Other notable features include a Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting and a wireless charging pad.
One particularly interesting feature is the 16-litre frunk, offering additional storage space under the front bonnet.
For families, the combination of a spacious cabin and extra storage could make the Syros EV more practical for everyday use.
Kia Syros EV Range: Up to 526km on a Single Charge
The range figure is likely to be one of the biggest attractions for potential buyers.
Kia is offering two battery options.
The smaller 42kWh battery has a claimed range of 443km.
The larger 51.4kWh battery increases the claimed range to 526km on a full charge.
According to Kia, this makes the Syros EV the first vehicle in its segment to offer more than 500km of certified range.
While real-world range will depend on factors such as driving conditions, speed, weather and air-conditioning use, the official figure gives the larger-battery version a strong headline advantage.
The Extended Range version can reportedly accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.1 seconds, adding a performance element to the otherwise family-focused SUV.
Fast Charging From 10% to 80% in 39 Minutes
Charging time is another important consideration for EV buyers.
Kia says the Syros EV can charge from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes when connected to a compatible 100kW DC fast charger.
For owners travelling between cities, fast charging could help reduce the amount of time spent waiting at charging stations.
The company is also giving customers access to the K-Charge network, which currently includes more than 20,300 charging points across India.
The expansion of charging infrastructure remains one of the biggest factors influencing EV adoption in India, so access to a wider charging network could make the Syros EV more appealing to first-time EV buyers.
Safety Features: Level 2 ADAS and 360-Degree Camera
Kia has not compromised on safety equipment either.
The Syros EV comes equipped with six airbags and Level 2 ADAS, featuring 16 autonomous driving and driver-assistance functions.
The SUV also gets a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor and front, rear and side parking sensors.

Kia’s extended battery warranty is therefore designed to provide additional peace of mind to buyers.
The company has also introduced an assured buyback programme, promising up to 80 per cent resale value after three years, subject to the programme’s applicable terms and conditions.
In addition, customers can explore Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) finance options, which are aimed at making the upfront cost of EV ownership more manageable.
These initiatives show that Kia is trying to address the EV ownership equation beyond simply offering a competitive sticker price.
