Jana Nayagan box office Day 6: Vijay’s blockbuster slows on weekday but races past ₹246 crore worldwide
H. Vinoth’s action entertainer witnessed its expected Tuesday dip, yet Vijay’s latest release continues its impressive box office run with strong performances in Tamil Nadu and overseas markets.
Vijay’s latest action drama Jana Nayagan has entered the expected weekday slowdown after an outstanding opening weekend. Despite a noticeable drop in collections on its first Tuesday, the film continues to dominate the box office, comfortably crossing the ₹246 crore mark worldwide within just six days of its release.
The H. Vinoth directorial has maintained strong momentum, thanks to its impressive opening and consistent support from audiences, particularly in Tamil Nadu, which remains its biggest market.
Jana Nayagan Box Office Collection Day 6
On Day 6 (Tuesday), Jana Nayagan earned an estimated ₹8 crore net in India, marking a 24.9% decline from Monday’s collection of ₹10.65 crore. The drop is in line with the normal weekday trend seen after a successful opening weekend.
With Tuesday’s earnings, the film’s India net collection has climbed to ₹143.40 crore, while its India gross stands at ₹167.57 crore.
The film also maintained a steady performance in international markets, collecting an additional ₹3 crore overseas, taking its overseas gross to ₹78.50 crore. Its worldwide gross collection has now reached an impressive ₹246.07 crore.
Tamil version continues to lead
The Tamil version remained the primary contributor to the film’s success on Tuesday.
Out of 10,413 shows screened across India, the Tamil version generated ₹6.15 crore from 4,873 shows, registering an overall occupancy of 25%.
Audience turnout improved as the day progressed. Morning occupancy stood at 19.08%, increased to 31.15% during evening shows and closed at 30% during the night screenings.
The Hindi version contributed ₹1.25 crore from 4,420 shows with an occupancy of around 15%, while the Telugu version collected ₹0.60 crore from 1,120 shows, recording 16% occupancy.

Tamil Nadu remains the biggest market
As expected, Tamil Nadu continued to dominate the film’s business, contributing approximately ₹5.50 crore gross on Day 6.
Other key markets included:
- Rest of India: ₹1.50 crore
- Karnataka: ₹1 crore
- Kerala: ₹0.70 crore
- Andhra Pradesh & Telangana: ₹0.55 crore
The strong regional performance continues to drive the film’s overall collections despite the weekday slowdown.
Box office journey so far
Jana Nayagan enjoyed a stellar opening at the ticket counters.
The film opened with ₹42.70 crore on Day 1 before collecting ₹21.15 crore on Friday. It bounced back strongly over the weekend with ₹28.90 crore on Saturday and ₹32 crore on Sunday. Collections naturally dipped to ₹10.65 crore on Monday before settling at ₹8 crore on Tuesday.
With the second weekend approaching, trade analysts will closely watch whether the film can regain momentum and continue its successful theatrical run.
