BTS’ Jung Kook Calls Out Rude Fan Behaviour After Public Encounter: ‘Shoving a Camera in Someone’s Face Is Not Respectful’
The BTS star shared a recent incident during a Weverse livestream, reminding fans that kindness and respect for personal boundaries matter just as much as admiration.
Seoul, South Korea: BTS member Jung Kook has once again spoken about the importance of respecting celebrities’ personal boundaries after recalling an uncomfortable encounter with a fan during a recent Weverse livestream.
The global K-pop star shared the incident while interacting with fans online on July 27, using the experience to highlight how respectful behaviour can make fan interactions enjoyable, while invasive actions can leave a negative impression.
A Pleasant Fan Meeting Turned Uncomfortable
During the livestream, Jung Kook revealed that he had recently watched the Korean film Hope by himself. As he was leaving the theatre, a few fans recognized him and politely asked if they could take photographs.
The singer happily agreed, saying that the respectful approach made the interaction comfortable and memorable.
However, the situation changed later when he stopped at a bakery.
Recalling the incident, Jung Kook explained that someone suddenly stood directly in front of him with a camera pointed at his face without asking for permission.“I had gone into a bakery to buy some bread, and all of a sudden there was someone standing right in front of me with a camera pointed at me like this. I don’t really think that’s very respectful,” he said during the livestream.
‘Respect Should Come First’
Jung Kook stressed that basic courtesy should apply regardless of age, nationality, or fandom.
He added that unexpectedly pushing a camera into someone’s face is disrespectful and hoped the individual involved would understand why the behaviour was inappropriate.

The singer also explained why the earlier interaction outside the movie theatre stood out positively.
According to him, those fans politely asked for permission before requesting photos, making him more than happy to pose with them.
Not the First Time Jung Kook Has Addressed Boundaries
This is not the first occasion on which Jung Kook has reminded fans about maintaining healthy boundaries.
Earlier in June, during another Weverse livestream following BTS’ concerts in Madrid, fans repeatedly urged him to end the broadcast and go to sleep. While appreciating their concern, the singer gently reminded viewers that such personal decisions should remain his own.
His latest comments continue to reinforce the message that admiration should always be balanced with respect for privacy.
BTS Gears Up for World Tour Return
Meanwhile, BTS is preparing to return to the stage after a brief break. The group comprising RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook is scheduled to resume its Arirang World Tour on August 1.
The tour will include performances at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, followed by concerts in Foxborough, Baltimore, Arlington, Toronto, and Chicago throughout August.
As excitement builds for the upcoming performances, Jung Kook’s message has also served as a reminder that genuine fan support includes respecting an artist’s personal space both on and off the stage.
